Sandman (Dream x Reader)

(Imma make it like Dream already got his ruby back since, welp, I feel lazy since its 11 at night :) )

Lucienne, Abel, and Cain had come towards me quickly, asking so many questions that I couldn't keep up with.

"Are you alright Y/N!?"
"Do you hurt at all?"
"Miss Y/N, do you feel tired at all!?"
"Please sit down if you feel drained."
"Are you thirsty?"
"Are you nauseous?"
"Here sit!"

I stumbled a bit as Abel kept asking me questions, it seems Cain and Lucienne had gotten the message. I tried keeping track of all of his questions as I tried to answer at the best of my extent.

"Uh- e-rm Yes, no, no, maybe?, yeah, no? Wha..." I had trailed off as I lost track of what Abel had been saying.

"Abel, give her some space now." His brother Cain had said as he placed a hand on Abels shoulder and pulled Abel towards himself and Lucienne.

"Hm." A low hum came from behind the three in front of me, I already knew who it was. I was about to turn my body a bit to look behind him. But before I could even move, he had appeared in front of me and brought me into a hug.

I was a bit shocked by this before I slowly started hugging him back. After a couple of minutes, Dream had pulled away, at this point, I could see the height difference a bit better. I had grown a couple inches, yet I was still shorter than Dream by a couple inches. I looked at him a bit longer before a question I wanted to ask earlier had floated back into my head.

"Uhm, why is everyone so happy to see me? I only took a nap?..right?..." I said a bit unsure, I was unsure if this was a dream as well, since well, I think I dreamed about being with father, Ethel, and Alex again as a one big happy family.

I wasn't met with an answer for a bit, everyone, except Dream's, face had gone to a sad and grief-ful (not sure if thats a word or not ,_,). I was confused as to why they had the same look. I shifted my attention to Lucienne as I saw her step forward.

"Miss Y/N...you've been asleep for 7 years..." Lucienne said quietely.

I was stunned for a bit.

"Maybe this is just a dream. There's no way I slept for 7 years." I thought to myself.

As everyones attention was on me. I just stared into nothingness for a few minutes before turning a sharp 180 back into the cottage, getting back into bed, pulling the covers over my body.

I could tell everyone was confused on my action as I heard them slowly start walking into the cottage.

"Mm no. There is no absolute way I slept for 7 years. I must still be taking a nap." I said loud enough for them to hear. I had face planted into my pillow as I tried going back to sleep. But...that didn't work so well. I felt alive. Energetic, maybe a little too energetic for my liking.

"Your not tired." Said the familiar low tone of Dreams voice. I tried thinking of something else.

"Hmm, maybe we should probably let Lord Morpheus handle this?" Abel said as he started backing out of the cottage. Cain had nodded as he turned around and walked out. Lucienne had stayed, she just walked to a corner of the room and sat on a chair.

I heard footsteps come closer to me before I felt hands push me onto my side, facing the person ho the hands had belonged to.

"I can feel and tell that you aren't tired. Your awake. Fully now." Dream said as he was crouched down by the side of the bed.

"Hmmm." I hummed, I still wasn't sure if this was a dream or not. I had stared into Dreams orbs as he continued staring at me.

"Matthew had gone back and forth during my time in hell as I got my helm back. He had said that you were put in a coma." Dream said.

"Okay maybe this wasn't a Dream." I thought to myself.

"Alright but...I still don't get how I was put into coma in the first place." I said as I sat up. I had pushed my "coughing up blood" coughs to the back of my head. I heard Lucienne sigh loudly.

"Don't push it aside, Miss Y/N. You were coughing up a storm after Dream had left." She said as she looked at me with worried eyes. Dream had looked in her direction as she spoke, only to look back at me after she had spoken.

"Coughing? Why didn't you come to me when that happened? I could see if I could help you with that." Dream said, his tone was...serious and worried. Not a good mix for me. I ended up moving my eyes somewhere else from his as I lowered my head a bit.

"Sorry." I mumbled out. I brought my hand up to the back of my head as I scratched my neck.

Dream just stared at me a little longer, making me it little more nervous as small beads of sweat rolled down my face.

"Get changed Y/N. I'd like to take you to the human realm for a bit." Dream said as he stood up. Looking down at me before turning around and walking out the cottage door. I could tell he stood by the wall next to the door as I saw he hadn't moved any farther before the door closed.

I looked at Lucienne as I saw her get up and walk towards a dresser next to the bed. I had missed it when I woke up earlier.

"If it really has been 7 years, that means I'm...I'm 21!" I thought to myself as I watched as Lucienne laid clothes out onto the bed.

"So uh, Miss Y/N. Since well, you've grown. Your going to have to wear different under garments" Lucienne said as she grabbed a plain (color) bra out of the drawer and gave it to me.

"Oh. Thank you." I said as I took the bra from her and looked down at my chest.

"Jesus, did I hit puberty late when I was in my so call coma?" I thought to myself.

I finished changing, itching my back here and there as the bra strap kept digging into my back.

I had changed into a black dress that went down to my ankles, it had poet shirt like sleeves as the ruffles at the ends of the sleeve's at the wrist. Along with black flats.

I had walked to the cottage door and opened it. Turning my head and seeing Dream standing by the wall. I had smiled back at him as I got a quiet yet noticeable hum from him.

Lucienne had stepped into the doorway. I waved her bye as Dream took a step next to me and dropped a hand full of sand onto the ground, creating a sand dust devil around us.

That is how we started our way to the human realm.
