Hey! Thank you for choosing to spend your precious time reading this :)
A/N: I started this book in my early teen years so the first few chapters might be bonkers but I promise you will develop a sense of attachment as you go along. Please show your love and patience for the time being! <3
NARRATOR's POV:
"So it really is happening huh?", Laila inquired with her brows raised and her arms crossed, leaning on Lana's bedroom doorframe as she saw Lana cram all her stuff inside the suitcase.
"I mean I guess", Lana scratched the top of her head, "Do you think there's anything missing here? In my suitcase? Anything I should take with me?"
"Hmm well, I think there is", Laila replied with a wicked smile on her face, tossing her hand in her baggy jeans's back pocket, as she juggled her car keys, she took out a "green colored thing"
Laila entrusted a vape in Lana's palm, "Here. Thank me later bitch"
"LAILA NO WTF?! You're offering me a VAPE?! FOR MY NEW COLLEGE YEAR??", she exaggerated while gritting her teeth.
"Oh cmon Lana, you're moving to a new place and you're starting COLLEGE! Atleast take this, it's gonna help you with the stress, I swear", Laila insisted vehemently.
"I like the spirit but Laila, it's still a no", Lana sighed and motioned her to come inside, "Now will you seriously be helpful and let me know if there's anything USEFUL that I'm missing out on?"
Laila rolled eyes at her and put the vape back in her pocket. She waddled in to peer inside the suitcase.
"Well well well, this is concerning", Laila rubbed her forehead.
"What-What is concerning? Am I missing something important?", Lana stuttered.
Laila nodded her head, "Yes honey, you're missing out on the important aspects of life".
"And what are they exactly?", Lana raised a brow, rolling her tongue in annoyance.
"You don't have good quality lingeries, makeup and party dresses. All these things look so pale like they don't have life in them ew", Laila motioned at her suitcase, dismayed.
"I'm pretty sure I'm going for college and not for some modelling session so please let's keep that in mind, will you? Besides I think I have all the stuff that I'd need", she paused, "My books for the trip, all my clothes along with my undergarments, my cards and a few makeup products. That should suffice I think".
"IN HELL", Laila's tone echoed the empty corridors of the hostel.
"God Laila quiet! You'll wake everyone up. We live in a strict Christian hostel remember?", Lana snapped, "Ms. Sara will throw us out if you keep that attitude", she clenched her jaw as she tried to zip-close her heavy and overly-burdened suitcase.
"Whatever, I'm not scared of Ms. Sara or anyone. You know i do what I want", Laila giggled, "Give me that and let me pack some much needed stuff for you".
"NO WAY!", Lana's eyes widened in fear.
"oh cmon, I won't run away with your stupid books and grandma wardrobe", Laila shrugged snatching the suitcase off of Lana's grip.
"You're so stubborn ughh", she shrieked, "Please don't do anything crazy with my books".
"Don't worry bae", Laila bit her lips, "I'm just gonna spice this up for you and da boys", she flashed a wink at Lana.
Lana's eyes darted at the sentence, she clenched her jaw and beseeched to God for a miracle so that she'd have her suitcase back, "The boys?? Excuse you?!".
Laila giggled and continued to shove things out of her suitcase, "Wow this was actually what you were taking with yourself to Toronto?!", she said in disbelief.
"What do you mean, I see nothing wrong in my suitcase. Just stop please", Lana's voice quivered as she begged for Laila to stop.
She couldn't understand the need of Laila's unsolicited advice but there was nothing she could do to put a halt at Laila's charade.
Laila was persuasive and too determined to transform Lana's suitcase, she was unstoppable. She kept throwing the clothes out of Lana's suitcase everywhere, on the bed, on the cupboard, on the couch and sometimes even on Lana's face. She was too busy emptying the bag to notice the huge pile of mess that she had created. She ran back and forth from Lana's room to hers and grabbed fistful of colored clothes.
Meanwhile, the whole time Lana kept biting her nails and walking in circles outside the whole room, praying for this to be over.
"God why'd I ever do this in front of her?!", she cursed herself, "Fuck my life?!", she whispered under her breath.
The whole charade continued for another hour until a voice screamed, "LOOK IT'S DONE!"
