Hayley's P.O.V:

"Hi, I'm Hayley and I'm here because I want to observe today." I said to the support group I was currently sitting in. I wasn't ready for anybody to find out what had happened yet.

I was in a room with a bunch of older women who were less then thirty. I was eighteen, so anybody over twenty was old to me, especially when I was the youngest person in the room. Well, there was one girl who couldn't be more than nineteen sitting next to me. She looked scared to death. "Hi Hayley." All the women said at the same time, I got a few smiles from some of the younger women but most of them looked bored out of their minds.

I knew this type of support group was not ever made to be required by a therapist or the law, so why were they here? If they didn't want to be here, why get in your car and waste your time? Maybe, the women wanted help but didn't want to act like it. Sometimes I could be like that.

"I'm T-Trystan." The girl who was sitting next to me said. I turned to get a good look at her. Her hair was a carmel color and it went well with her tan skin. She was very thin, and her face had no meat on it. Her eyes had huge bags under them like she hadn't slept in a month and the color of them were grey.

"Hi Trystan." We all responded. She gave a slight smile and looked down at her fingers. I couldn't help but look at her and feel sad. She looked lonely. She looked like she needed a friend. The meeting went on as all of the older women introduced themselves and shared their stories. The meeting was supposed to cheer us up, but all it did for me was bring back memories. It wasn't like I never remembered anything, but it was mostly at night when I was alone and trying to rest. Once the meeting was over, I went over to the snacks table. Trystan was over there getting a cup of coffee and a donut. I grabbed a cup of coffee and took a sip.

"Hi. I'm Hayley." I said, realising I had already said my name. "But you already knew that." We both laughed at my stupidity.

"Yes, and I'm guessing you know my name is Trystan." She laughed.

"Yes, I do. Well, I was wondering if you would want to go shopping with me tomorrow? I know we just met and all, but I kind of don't want to go shopping alone. All of my friends are busy." Trystan's eyes lit up and I knew that was a yes.

"I would love to. What time?" She asked.

"I'm not sure yet. How about I'll text you when I figure out the times?" She nodded and I handed her my phone so she could put her phone number into it. I left after that with my cold coffee and my heavy coat. It was a freezing New York night, and I was not looking forward to walking home alone. At least I lived in the well-lit part of town.

Once I arrived home, I threw the coffee away and put my coat on one of my diningroom chairs. My apartment was nice, but not really nice. My dad owned the building and I had grown up around it, so I decided when I moved out I wanted to live in it. I worked at the hotel in the afternoons after school, and my dad said as long as I was successful he would pay for my apartment.

"Mazie?" I called through the apartment. I heard the pitter-patter of her feet running to me on the wooden floor. She jumped up and put her front paws on my thighs. "Hows my baby?" I asked, picking her up. She barked and I laughed, wanting to believe she was telling me what she had done all night. "Well I'm glad you had such a lovely night. Let's go outside." I said, walking over to my balcony.

When my dad had given me Mazie as a moving out present, he also gave me an apartment that was equipped for dogs. They were more expensive, but he thought I was worth it. These apartments had built in doggy doors to all the rooms, water despensers and the balconies were half grass so the dogs could do their buisness. The apartments were very nice.
