Harry's P.O.V
After Hayley's breakdown last night, she finally calmed down. She fell asleep on my lap so I carefully carried her into my bedroom and set her down. I covered her up and made sure she was comfortable. I went to the other side of the bed and grabbed my pillow. Then, as I walked out I turned the lights off and closed the door.
My couch wasn't the worst place to sleep. With a pillow and blanket, it really wasn't bad at all. I set down my pillow and went to look through some boxes for a blanket. Finally, I found one and laid down on the couch. I couldn't fall asleep right away and just as I was about to, I heard Hayley in my bedroom.
"It's okay. I won't tell anyone. I swear. No! No, please!" She screamed. I instantly jumped up, not knowing what was going on. I ran into my bedroom and found Hayley thrashing around on the bed. I went over to her and pinned
her shoulders down to the bed.
"Hayley, wake up. Wake up. It's just a dream. Come on, wake up!" I said, increasing my volume as I kept trying. "Hayley!" Her eyes shot open and I could see the fear in them.
"Don't hurt me Ja-" She looked deep into my eyes and I could almost see her relax. "Harry." She breathed out. I let go of her shoulders and moved some of
her dark hair out of her eyes.
"Just go back to sleep. I'll see you in the morning." I said, smiling sympathetically at her. She instantly closed her eyes and I went back to the couch.
This time, I was able to sleep peacefully with no disruption.
When I woke up, the smell of bacon and eggs was in the air. I put my arms behind my head and stretched out my back. Maybe this couch was a nightmare after all.
"Ugh." I said, standing up and going into the kitchen to find Hayley cooking. There were eggs, bacon, cinnamon rolls and grits sitting on the dining room table along with milk and orange juice.
"Good morning." Hayley said, avoiding my eyes. Her cheeks were still puffy and her hair was a mess.
"Good morning, Hayley. How did you sleep?" I asked, pulling out a chair for her. She sat but remained silent. I went to the other side of the table and sat down.
"Well this looks delicious." I complimented, seeing as I had asked a bad question.
"Thank you. I was going to try to get the desk to get me a new key today but they said they won't be able to until after the new year. I can go stay with my friend, Trystan, though." Hayley said while I grabbed a little bit of everything.
"There is no need for that." I assured. "As long as you help me unpack and decorate for Christmas. It's in what- five days?" I asked.
"Four days, and I can do that. Are you sure, though? I don't want to intrude on you." She said. "You know, if you have family coming over for Christmas."
"No." I snapped quickly. "No family." Hayley was still looking at the table and she jumped when I snapped.
