Now, looking at her, you wouldn't think anything different—she had average straight brown hair, pale skin, dressed like everyone else. If anything, she was slightly taller than most of the girls at her school.
But, if you were Carla? You'd know you were different.
No one else had the scars along their wrists from a Demogorgan like she did. No one else had been chased down by inter-dimensional monsters like she had. No one else could dream walk into someone else's head without powers. No one had been wanted and possessed by the Mind Flayer like she had. No one else had died and been revived like she had endured.
After the events that occurred at Starcourt Mall, Carla was ready to be normal—or as normal as she could be.
While she'd always have some sense of being different every time she thought of what she'd gone through, Carla was ready to try to forget about it all. To let go of the Upside Down roots that had been tied to her mind since Will Byers disappeared and try to focus on just being herself. On living her life the way she'd wished she was able to since she was sixteen.
After all, everything was over, right? It was time to move on.
During the spring of '86, Carla is trying to push her way through senior year when she realizes that the Upside Down was far from out of her life. Mysterious deaths start to happen through the town and a dark threat starts to loom over Hawkins, a threat that has Carla realizing that her reappearing nightmares, constant headaches and out of the blue nosebleeds may be more than simply 'stress'
A threat that without Eleven here to help them, Carla isn't sure they'll be able to beat.
