For two days Jay had obviously noticed Y/ns change towards him

By not talking to him or avoiding him

Since he did sit behind Y/n during their junior year of high school he'd stick pink sticky notes on Y/ns table asking him things like

'Don't ignore me :('

'Are you mad at me?'

'Wanna buy ice tea together?'

Even though he knew the reason why she was keeping her distance from him

It was one way of getting her attention

Y/n did read the sticky notes sometimes she'd chuckle reading them

She didn't want to face Jay since she had no idea what to say and how to act, it's hard to just remove the fact in her mind that Jay has feelings for her

No one knows about Jay's confession either, Jay kept it to himself because he knew Y/n would want to keep that situation a secret for now

Y/n didn't tell anyone either, when people ask why she was acting a bit strange

Her excuse was she didn't want to talk about it

It was lunchtime and Y/n had finished eating early

She was grabbing a few things in her locker when Jay happened to bump into her

"Sorry-"

"Can we talk?" he asked, she didn't answer and just closed her locker not making eye contact with him

"Please?"

Jay brought her under the bleachers so no one would see them

Since it was lunch time everyone was in the cafeteria or in empty classrooms

Y/n just stared at Jay blankly not knowing what to say waiting for him to say something instead

"Y/n my confession wasn't a joke, my true feelings to you is that. I really do love you, a lot, I guess you didn't get the hint"

He chuckled to himself and light smiled

Y/n had just listened not uttering anything at all

"Do you have an answer to my confession? You didn't say anything, I gave you time to think about it. But like you, I'm quite impatient"

He smiled at her, Y/n couldn't help but gulp

"I do like you back Jay," she mumbled but loud enough for Jay to hear

His smile grew bigger but then she continued, "but my dad, he would go crazy if he found out I liked you and you feel the same way"

Jay was going to ask Y/n to be his girlfriend, but hearing her reason he hesitated

Not wanting Y/n to be scolded

"Can't we keep it a secret?" Jay says which made Y/n look at him worriedly
