Overcoming the Brotherhood arc Ch 3 The Realization

(It's been two days since Lava told Captain Azar and the others about Magma's note. Lava and the others have been carrying on with their lives and acting as if everything was normal. Early morning, when Lava was carrying out some of his Lieutenant duties, he crossed paths with General Aidan) 

Oh, Lieutenant Lava, I was planning on paying you a visit today. How is Magma's training coming along?

(Lava quickly thinks to himself) This is it. (then he asks) Magma's training? I thought you sent him on an assignment?

(General Aidan stares at Lava in disbelief for a moment) I did give Magma his first assignment. He came back and asked for a 5-day grace period before so you could train him. Are you telling me he isn't here?

(Lava nervously replies) I don't know what's going on. Magma told me that you gave him his first assignment, we talked a little bit about it, I gave him some advice and he left. He never mentioned anything about training.

(General Aidan clenches his jaw but then smiles) I understand Lava, I'm not sure what's going on either but I will get to the bottom of it. Thank you for your cooperation.

(After speaking, General Aidan then turns to walk away. As he is walking away they both start to think)

It appears Magma has made his decision. (smiled General Aidan)

I'm sorry Magma. I wish there was something I could do for you. (thought Lava) I have to tell the Captain.

(As the General continues walking away, Lava quickly makes his way back to his squad barracks in search of Captain Azar. When he arrives, the Captain is nowhere to be found. After looking for a couple of minutes, he goes into his living quarters where Adara is making breakfast)

Ah Lava, just in time! I'm maki...

The General knows that Magma isn't here! (Lava frantically blurts out cutting Adara off mid-sentence) Where is Captain Azar?

(Adara drops the spatula) He knows? I.. I don't know where the Captain is. Is everything okay?

I have to let the Captain kno...

(Suddenly as Lava is finishing his sentence, he is interrupted by Vice General Brenton, who is speaking over the intercom) "Attention Fire Brotherhood! Will all Captains and Lieutenants report to the assignment room"

This must be about Magma. (uttered Lava) 

How did he find out?

I was in the middle of handling some of my Lieutenant duties when we happened to cross paths. He asked me how Magma's training was coming. I followed the plan that Magma laid out and that Captains Azar and Kenneth agreed to.

(Adara pauses for a moment) So this is it. This is the beginning of the cat-and-mouse game.

It appears so. (replies Lava unsure of himself)

(Adara can sense his nervousness. She comes from around the counter and grabs a hold of his hands) Be strong Lava! Trust yourself and the Captains. We need to be strong for Magma!

(He stares into her eyes before kissing her. As they pull away he says) Thank you, Adara! I needed that. (After a moment of taking in each other's presence, he continues) I have to get going.

(She smiles at him as he turns to walk away) Be safe Lava!

Thank you for always supporting me. (thought Lava as he turned his head to smile back at her before leaving the room) I gotta hurry! I wonder what the General is going to do. Magma I hope you're safe.

(A few minutes ago, while Lava was arriving at his squad's barracks, General Aidan was approaching Vice General Brenton)

Vice General, I have some shocking news. (The General says with a smile on his face) It seems that Magma has tried to pull a fast one on us.
