I Promise

First day

A week has passed since the picnic on the lake. Today is Sunday and Vegas will be starting to work with the main family tomorrow. We talked about this over and over again but the answer is still the same. He has decided to work with the main family. Vegas looked calm and unbothered with his decision but on contrary, I'm the one who gets anxious.

He will work at the office and I will stay at home since I need to take care of Venice. I really want to follow him to work as his bodyguard along with Nop but he disagrees with it and said it will be better for me if I take care of Venice at home he argued that Venice still needs my full attention.

I finally agree with him, because I also think I can't leave Venice without Macau at home and because we don't have any babysitter or at least someone we can trust to take care of him, bringing him to work is also not an option.

The situation is still calm for now, but Vegas shared his thought about some parties that might don't want the second family led by someone that does not come from a mafia circle and more importantly if they know Porsche is only an ex-bodyguard. They will do something about the situation of their leader for sure.

This has been my concern because Vegas is in the middle of this. The announcement of Porsche becoming the leader of the second family is not yet held respecting the khun Korn brother's death, what I know from my former colleague in the main family Arm: The announcement will be formally held in the main family house, and it will be held after Vegas agrees to work with them. According to Arm this announcement also will be Vegas's first task as someone who works under the second family leader.

When the announcement of the new leader was held I anticipated that Vegas will receive either backlash from the second family supporter or support from some parties who will try to make him an ally to fight against the main family, this of course only for their own benefit. What makes me anxious is how Vegas will react to this. I trust him when he said he will leave everything behind, but then some parties might do something bad to him, because he opposed them, but if he is tempted to regain his position and initiate a fight with the main family I don't think he will survive. He's strong but there must be a reason why the main family is standing strong up until now.

12:10 AM

I can't sleep. Venice sleep soundly in his crib and Vegas lay next to me. I faced him and look at his face. He sleeps early, around 10 o'clock. He is still under medication and it makes him sleep early. This might be his last proper sleep, if he starts working he might need to work until late.

I keep staring at his face, I want to caress his cheeks but I'm afraid I might wake him up, I want him to rest.

Maybe I think too much, we still don't know what will happen in the future, it might be different from what I've been anticipating. I'll pray for him so nothing bad will happen.

The drowsiness slowly comes and makes me close my eyes slowly while keep looking at Vegas's handsome face.

04.30 A.M

I opened my eyes and was greeted by the darkness, I stayed for a while waiting to get used to the darkness. A few seconds later I can see my surroundings in a dim light produced by the lamp from outside the house.

I turn my head to the right side of the bed and I can see a cute handsome man sleep beside me. He sleeps with his back facing me. His one hand holding Venice's crib. He must have been awake not long ago to feed Venice. I pulled his hand slowly and his body naturally facing me. He nuzzled his face to my chest, looking for warmth. I slipped my arm under his neck and pulled his body closer to mine. I stroked his hair and kissed his temple.
