It was about 2:30 in the morning as Lord and Lady Potter finally came back home. The Potter residence was a fairly big home with five bedrooms, a kitchen, a master bathroom and bathrooms that are connected to the bedrooms, a big living room and a few more rooms for laundry and else.

When you first step into the house, you are met with a big corridor that leads to the open kitchen and living room, two rooms that are connected but bordered with a bar-like table. The kitchen was relatively big, in comparison to others, and was made perfectly to cook for a big family, sometimes alone and sometimes with the help of one or two people. For the Potter's, in most cases James and Lily cooked together. They loved the domestic vibes and the time they spent together away from their children but without being away from their children. For them, it was probably their comfort room in the house.

The kitchen had a dark red, almost maroon style, James wanted it that way. He was pretty much the cook of the group in the morning, as Lily, who was a nurse at the St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, was up in the morning and already left for work when they all wake up.

Lunch was served by Remus in the holidays, he was a teacher in Hogwarts and taught the students from age 11 to 14 in Defence against the dark arts. By that time, James already left for his job as an auror for the British ministry of magic.

Sirius, Remus' husband and Harry's godfather, worked mostly at home. He had a place at the ministry too but he was just there to represent the famous, ancient and noble house of Black. He got disowned when he was 16 and the Potter's, Euphemia and Fleamont who were James' parents, took him in. After his younger brother, Regulus, died he was the only known member to be alive and he still held the Black family title which means that he took over house of Black, or now, house of Lupin-Black.

But why am I talking about the kitchen so much, you may wonder. Well, let me explain.

In the kitchen, it was basically where everything began. James and Lily lived in Godric's Hollow before they were attacked in their house on Halloween, a famous story in the wizardry world now. Little Harry James Potter, only a year old at that time, defeated Lord Voldemort, a famous dark Lord who wanted to take over the wizardry world. After the attack, James and Lily decided to move into the ancient Potter residence, a house that once belonged to the Peverell's, not that any person alive but James knew, though that's a story for a different time. The house was safe, in every form, concealed with the best and oldest of magic, magic that would now be considered dark even, the Potter/Peverell ancestors made sure of it. Anyway, they decorated the home a bit, Lily wished so and it was time for it anyway. The house was dusty before they moved in and it got a new paint now. The kitched was the place that was first finished, and so, that was unofficially the family room. To Lily and James, after their eldest, Aurora Lily Potter went missing, and little Harry got attacked, this was important. A room for their family, where they can really see they are well and alive.

But the kitchen that was once filled with only happy memories was now filled with shouting and tears. James and Lily were fighing and James was having a hard time holding himself back from just throwing Lily back out. After they watched the movies and James noticed just how mich Lily seemed to criticise every little thing about their firstborn and her friends, he got furious. She made a snark remark every chance she got, scoffed more often then he could count and started many fights with the heroes. And now, he had to wait until his daughter came to him, only God knows how long that could take.

"But they aren't her family!" Lily shouted at James and for James, that was the final straw.

"So aren't we, Lily! We aren't her family, not anymore!", James panted and Lily looked taken aback at the fact he called her Lily, he never called her Lily, always 'Lily-flower' or any other nickname but never just Lily, "We weren't there for her whole life. Merlin, Lily, don't you get that? She has found another family, she has gone through hell and back, and she found a family!" James cried out and shook his head. "You should go." He softly said while looking at her. Lily looked offended st his words.
