Chapter Summary: Younghyun and Sungjin get into some trouble on the way home. Younghyun realized that Sungjin wasn't at all cold-hearted while Sungjin realized how much he wanted to protect Younghyun.

--

They walked the usual route to Younghyun's house in silence for a few minutes. The silence wasn't awkward but comfortable.

"Yah, don't stay at the university this late, okay?" Sungjin looked up at him.

"Why?"

"My jacket can protect you within school grounds only, and from the other students. Gangsters appear at this time because it's dark so don't stay out this late. At least have someone alert with you so if ever you get mugged —" Sungjin stopped abruptly, grabbing Younghyun's wrist to stop him as well.

"What?" Younghyun whispered.

"Shh," Sungjin whispered back, putting a finger in front of his mouth.

Sungjin pushed him into an alley, hiding behind the wall. Sungjin covered his mouth with his hand and pulled him back against him, his other arm tight on his waist as he did.

He had his head looking out to the side as if eavesdropping on something. Younghyun breathed heavily through his nose.

"I'm going to get something in my pocket. Stay quiet," Sungjin whispered almost inaudibly in his ear.

Younghyun nodded obediently. Sungjin slowly took his hand from his mouth and dug it into his pocket, taking out a small device that Younghyun recognized was for recording. Sungjin peeked out before clicking the button on the device and sliding it out.

The hushed voices stopped and Sungjin pulled them up instantly. He pulled at his hand and went deeper into the alley. Younghyun was so nervous, he didn't know where they went but he was now slightly lying down, head leaning back unto a wall.

Sungjin pressed his body against his and covered his mouth again, his other hand on the wall beside his head.

He flinched closer when the sound of a can being kicked was heard and on instinct, Younghyun put his arms around Sungjin's shoulders, pulling him closer before his hands started shaking.

Sungjin obliged, moving closer to him, and putting his head beside him, breath hitting his ear at every heavy release.

"Let's go," they heard someone say followed by the sound of a car speeding off.

But Sungjin stayed still against him, "Not yet. I heard a Swiss knife."

"Come out!"

Another can was kicked again and Younghyun held him tighter, scared. Sungjin shushed him and looked to the side. And then there was a silenced gunshot.

Sungjin flinched again, gasping softly, and Younghyun pulled down his head, shushing him by putting his mouth against his shoulder.

Sungjin's breath went heavy as well, the hand on Younghyun's mouth shaking slightly. Younghyun figured that they were in a container when it was kicked, and Sungjin bit down on his jacket to prevent noise from coming out of him.

"Maybe it was just a cat or something."

"Tch. And I wasted a bullet."

"Let's go."

Sungjin slowly pulled back from Younghyun, the younger's arms slowly loosening from his shoulders. Sungjin looked at him and sighed softly, eyes closing.

"Did I hurt you?" Sungjin whispered.

Younghyun shook his head with a smile, "No."

Sungjin nodded, "That's good."
