The chief was just ending his phone call when Beau and Rosalie came in. He instantly read the expression on Beau's face. "What is it, detective?" Shutting the door behind Rosalie, he'd rather not have anyone else listen in on their conversation. "There was an o.d. I talked with the responding officers. They told me the paramedics were acquainted with the person. They also told me you have patrol cars keep an eye out for the area." Dropping his gaze, the chief didn't say anything a moment. He looked troubled. "Do I take it you went to the hospital as well?"

Rosalie's eyes bounced between them. "You know what he was after?" Pinching the bridge of his nose, he let out a heavy sigh. "Yes, officer Duvall. I do. In truth I should have brought him into the fold much sooner. I was just on the phone with the D.E.A. Agents are on their way here. They believe a man they are hunting is operating either in or around Clairview." Looking straight at Beau, he knew where his curiosity stemmed from. He wasn't about to air his business though. "When are they expected?" Rosalie asked. Still looking at Beau he answered, "Tomorrow morning."

Leaving his office, Beau dropped down at his desk. The chief didn't know the name of the man that had ruined Beau's life but he knew there was the connection. Rosalie thankfully was still in the dark. As much as he enjoyed having her as his partner, he didn't want her knowing about his past. There were only so many times he could rehash it. Putting his head in his hands, he stayed that way for the next long while. When next he opened his eyes, it was to Rosalie looking at him with concern. "We could get back to the lists or we could go talk with Tamera again?"

It would save him from falling down the rabbit hole. He needed to focus on work. Tamera was a better way to go than continuing on with their goose chase. "Tamera it is." Arriving at the diner, one of the other girls went to let her know they were there. The diner wasn't bustling with customers, so she could get away with making them wait. Not that Beau particularly minded. When she did come out of hiding, her expression was annoyed. She didn't wait for either to ask to take the conversation outside, She simply walked past them, pushing out the door.

They shared a look as they followed after. Tamera leaned against the bricks, arms crossed. "I'm not exactly in a conversational mood. So can we make this quick?" Beau got cut off from starting it off by Rosalie. "It must be devastated to learn the news about Allison." Coming away from the wall, she glared at her. "I cared about her. The news shocked all of us." Beau didn't need a them making a scene. "While we were looking for that photo of Allison, we found one of the two of you together. You looked really close. I'm only curious as to why there aren't more."

"Why would you be curious? We're not glued at the hip. We have our own lives." Still. She didn't shed a tear. "Have you ever seen the lyrics Allison has written?" She shrugged, rolling her eyes. "Sure. I would occasionally work on them with her. She had told me it came easier to her than writing in a journal." Beau had a thought about that he tucked into the back of his mind. "Does Allison ever have emotional bouts. Crying without context or getting angry and blaming someone else?"

"No. She does her work. Stays polite to everyone and goes home at the end of her shifts." Rosalie gave him a look before going in on Tamera. "How often would you say the two of you hang out? If at all?" Giving her a once over, she scoffed. "Look at you. An ankle biter trying to play at pitbull. Cute. It was rare if we ever spent time together outside of work. Allison is more the type to keep to herself." Rosalie's ears had gone red at Tamera's remark but she wisely kept her mouth shut.

"I think we have everything we need. Thank you for your time," Beau said. Watching her walk back inside, Rosalie went off. "She is a viper. How could Allison stand to work with someone like her? I probably would have pulled her hair from the onset." Rubbing his forehead, he walked over to the car. "Don't allow her to rile you up. It's what she wants." Climbing back in, his words had the exact opposite effect. "She didn't even try to shed a tear, Beau. That's really messed up. Her co-worker has been kidnapped and she has the gall to say they were all shocked but there was no emotion in her voice."

It was disturbing for sure. But they couldn't force her to cry about it. "If we talk again with her, we'll bring her in to the station. She's too comfortable talking with us the way she is." Turning the key in the ignition, she sank lower into her seat. "I'm all for it." Pulling back into the lot, the sight of Loraine and June had both their attention. What was going on? Getting out quickly, he called out her name. Turning, her face was pale and she had a ziploc bag with something inside.

Hurrying up to her, she practically fell into his arms, her fingers digging in. "Hey. Talk to me. What's going on?" It took a moment for her to pull back, lessening her grip on him. "It was in my mail. It was in my mail. Someone threatened me, Beau." Holding up the bag, her hand shook as all eyes turned on it. "We should go inside and I'll take a look at it. Sound good to you?" It was an effort for her to take her eyes off it. "Yes. Please do."

Wrapping an arm around her, they all made their way inside. Going into the interrogation room, he sat her down. June quickly taking the chair beside her. Placing a hand to her sisters back she was shaken too. "This is crazy. My sister being threatened. She's not a bad person." Beau felt anger on both their behalf. He needed to inform the chief of this and get a pair of gloves in case there were prints they could lift. "Rosalie. Please stay here with them. I'll be right back." Nodding, he left the room. The chief was just coming out of his office. "What's going on with the Adam sisters?"

Explaining that Loraine had been threatened, the chief's expression went tight. "After you've taken a look at it, get it sent in and tell them I want a rush on it. Also. Inform the sisters they won't be leaving here until officers have spoken with Loraine's neighbors." Leaving him to get the gloves, he slipped them on as he walked back into the room. Opening the bag, he got the paper out. Looking at Loraine she was hugging her arms to herself. "Did this come in an envelope?" She shook her head. "It was just sticking out of the mailbox. My first thought was soliciting."

Opening it, he read the words. His blood ran hot. Folding it back up, he placed it back in the bag. "The chief needs the two of you to remain here until officers have spoken with your neighbors. Are you sure you didn't see anyone that looked suspicious when you got home?" The sisters looked at each other, shaking their heads in unison. "My neighbors pretty much keep inside. Even when the weathers nice. I have a hard time picturing one of them doing this."

"We just want to ask who they might've seen around, apart from the mail delivery person." She looked uneasy as she asked her question. "Will you be leaving with them?" It was as much a question as it was a plea for him not to leave. "There are plenty of other officers the chief can have sent out. I'll stay back, along with Rosalie. You can tell us what the two of you were doing before you got home." She visibly relaxed at his words. "Thank you. I don't mean to come off looking pathetic. I'm just..." Beau placed a hand on her shoulder. "You are not pathetic. Not at all. I'll be right back. I'm going to go drop this off."

Leaving the room, he had to work to calm down. His mind was a torrent of questions. Coming to the right place, he knocked once before letting himself in. Making eye contact with the first person he saw, he held up the bag. "I need a rush on this for prints. Loraine Adams was threatened." Their mouth formed an "O" as they took it from him. "We'll get right on it, detective. Scary stuff, being threatened." Infuriating too.
