i could only chuckle at our conversation as a pulled up in y/n's driveway.

i knocked on the door with one of my other hands in my pockets and waited.

y/n opened the door, though they looked very tired and drowsy.

"you look well." i said sarcastically.
"haha, come in" y/n said, rolling their eyes

we both took a seat on her couch and i handed them a bag.

"what's this?"
they dug into the bag and pulled out two boxes of [desired flavor] pocky. i had been at the convince store to buy some painkillers, so i thought buying a little present for them wouldn't hurt.

their eyes lit up as they hugged me. "thank you xiao!"

i bit my lip to keep the heat from rising to my face.
"you're welcome."

"why did you want me to come over anyway?" i asked as they pulled away

"i dont know, i was bored and ganyu is probably fast asleep by now." they said, eating a piece of pocky.

"well, i'd hope you'd be fast asleep as well, but i suppose you haven't slept, am i wrong?" remarked, crossing my legs and turning to them.

they sighed. "college is a pain. i've been having to get my work done at ungodly hours lately."

"do you have any to do at the moment? do you want me to leave?" i asked, getting
up slightly.

"no!" they pushed me down to the couch. "i mean- no. i just wanted some company is all." they smiled.

"i can do some the work for you. we take the same classes, do we not?" i asked.

"really?" they gleamed.
"though," i continued, "i wonder why you didn't do them earlier than this"
"haha- very funny xiao." they rolled their eyes at me.

"you know, you should probably be asleep right now."

we were sitting on y/n's couch, a pencil in my hand as i assisted them with their work.

"i need to make sure you're doing it right." they said, yawning and rubbing their eyes.

'that was kind of cute. wait what? what am i thinking? xiao, snap out of it!' i shook my head as an attempt to stop my face from turning red.

"you good, xiao? you're face is red. are you sick?" they put their hand on their forehead as my face heated up even more.

"i'm fine" i retorted, moving their hand away.
"whatever you say." they yawned

"i'll be heading to bed now."
"i thought you wanted to make sure i'm doing this right?" i rose my eyebrow.
"does it matter? i just don't wanna fail."

"here." i said picking them up on my back as i walked to their room.
"h-hey! what are you doing?" they yelped
"do you want me to put you down?"
"actually... you're warm, and im tired. never mind." they nuzzled their head into my shoulder.

i carried them to their room and placed them on their bed, tucking them in.
"goodnight, y/n" i said.
they snored softly.
'y/n should really get some more sleep.' i frowned.

i caressed her cheek in my hand as i sat on the side of her bed, placing a soft kiss on their forehead. "sweet dreams."

i walked out the room, chuckling softly as i closed the door as silently as a could.

little did i know, they were awake the whole time.
