I blinked rapidly before turning my attention to Katie, "sorry what?"
The three sets of concerned gazes made me sick in my seat, "You okay, sweetie? You've been acting weird the last few days."
I hadn't told anyone about my kiss with Dean since it happened. It seemed that Dean didn't tell Kai or Avel either since I had no creepy grinning looks from either of them whenever I ran into them during school and at the dojo.
Honestly, I haven't even been able to process it yet. I haven't had a second to think about it. Cameron had been popping up every time I got a second to myself and I felt rude if told him to go away so I just kept my mouth shut until I had a moment alone.
"I'm fine...just a bit tired." I gave Katie a reassuring smile.
"If something bothering you, you can tell me."
I smiled, "I'm fine really. I've just had a lot on my plate with classes lately. I'll be as good as new once I get a good night's sleep,"
"Are you sure you're up for tonight? It's okay if you don't want to go,"
I shook my head, giving her hand a gentle squeeze, "I said I would go so I'm going...plus dad would just drag me either way to there is no point in trying to get out of it,"
Nessa and Riona didn't seem to buy my little lie and I knew I would get questions later from the two of them.
The sound of the door opening drew my attention as Knox walked into the living room, "all right, I'm heading out. Let me know if you need anything, okay?"
I grabbed my things and headed out to my car with the girls, "what's wrong?"
"Hm? What do you mean?" I handed Riona the keys.
"You've been distracted these last few days and you haven't been yourself lately so spill, what's wrong?"
I sighed, "we shouldn't let Riona drive if we're going to have this discussion."
"What did you do?"
I took the keys from Riona's hand and got into the driver's seat, followed by the girls getting into the car. I pulled out from the curb and headed towards the shops, "I kissed Dean."
"You what?!"
"When did this happen?"
"And why are we just finding out about this now?" Riona added.
I sighed, "I don't know....I've kept myself so busy, I just kind of forgot to process it and now I don't know what to do."
"Was it good?"
"Nessa!... Was it?" I pressed my lips together, holding back a smile, "It was! She's grinning!"
I shook my head, "I wanna know everything!" Nessa squealed in my ear.
