Travis

Sunlight blinds me as my eyes finally blink open in the morning. There's a foreign yet comforting weight on my chest. Soft breaths tickle my bare chest and a small hand is pressed over my right pec.

A lazy smile takes over my face as I remember spending the night with Valery. After all her questions were answered and she stopped fighting what her instincts were urging her to do, she sat in my arms for hours, running those delicate fingers through my hair. If I were a cat instead of a wolf, I probably would've purred.

I roll slightly onto my side and wrap both arms around her. Running my fingers through her hair, I study her face in the morning light. Her cheekbones are high and prominent, flushed from sleep. Her nose is straight with a slight bump in the bridge, and sits over full, heart shaped lips. Her jaw is soft, but sharp enough to accentuate the delicate curve of her neck.

In the soft light, she looks like an angel, her hair glowing gold. I place my chin against the top of her head and relish in the feel of her asleep in my arms. It makes me feel powerful and masculine.

When Val starts to wake up, she stretches, her body pressing flush to mine from head to toe. A shiver runs up my spine, causing the hair on the back of my neck to stand. An urge to completely ravish her rises in my mind.

"Good morning," she murmurs when she finishes stretching and pulls her face from my chest.

"Good morning," I whisper back, lowering my face until my nose bumps with hers. Before I can think too much, I lower my mouth to hers. Her lips are soft and slightly chilled against mine. We move together like we've kissed a million times. I roll us to hover above her and naturally she fights back, pushing up against me. I lace my fingers through hers and lock them into place on either side of her head. She whines softly in submission, startling herself.

Laughing, I break the kiss and rest my head against her shoulder. Her submission, intended or not, makes me feel fantastic. Like I can take on the world if she asks me.

"Why did I do that?" she asks, removing her hands from my hold and wrapping them around my neck.

"That was you submitting to my dominance," I explain, placing a kiss on her collarbone.

"Will I do that every time I kiss someone?"

An involuntary possessive growl exits me at the idea of her kissing anyone who isn't me. I know she didn't mean it like that, but it still irks me.

"Sorry," she mutters. "Every time we kiss."

"No, not every time, only in situations like this and when you fight me about it. It's just a display of dominance and submission."

I shift slightly so my head stays pressed to her shoulder, but I'm only half laying on her, my leg resting between hers and her hips nestles into my stomach. Her hair smells like mint and eucalyptus mixed with that smell I can only describe as 'her'.

Finally, she wiggles to pull herself from under me. "I need to feed you. And I have to call Stan to let him know I can't come in today."

I throw on a clean pair of sweatpants from the duffel still sitting by her front door. She stays in just her shirt and moves around the kitchen. My instincts are still running high and will be for the next week or two, so I walk up behind her and just observe for a moment.

Val has a great ass, I deduce. Especially the glimpses of her cheeks peeking out from her cotton panties when she reaches up into a cupboard. No longer able to keep my distance, I stand behind her when she settles on the stove and wrap my arms around her waist and rest my jaw against her temple. My hands slip down the front of her thighs before moving up under the shirt and resting against her stomach. It's the perfect amount of fat, soft and smooth. The feel of her makes my blood run hot in a way it never has before. I know I'm painfully hard, but the courting period is only just beginning.
