It sure was unimaginable for Merope to do it all these years. She didn't want to. But she had to. She was asked to, when one night her father asked her to do something she hadn't even imagined in her dreaded dreams.

"Merope dear." Cygnus called.

"Yes father." She replied.

"You're a good girl right?" He asked. She hummed. "Will do anything I'll ask you to?" He questioned. She frowned again.

"Anything." She plainly replied. Beside he is her father and she believed him because she started to be an acquiescent girl. Never crossing a limited drawn by her parents. She knew all they do is to keep her safe. Away from danger. But she had some bad feeling in his reque-

"Will you stop speaking to Sirius?" He asked directly without knowing how much those six words would pain her. She was in shock. She just couldn't believe what she heard. In the process, tears started to well up in her eyes.

"Why?" She asked in a very low voice.

"He broke the family tradition. He can be even disowned for that." He replied. She felt the world stop around her. Disowned? For what?

"For what?" She asked. She knew Sirius was mischievous but she also knew he wouldn't do anything to go to an extent that he'll be disowned.

"He's sorted into another house." What??? No!! This can't happen. Unknown to her a sob escaped from her quivering lips.

"OK." She said in a very low voice which was barely above whisper. Surprisingly he heard it. Satisfied with the reply he continued to read the book for her, caressing her hair, until she went to sleep......

BLINK.

BLINK.

This is the first memory she didn't cherished for three long years. A memory, she knew that would haunt her forever. A memory given by her parents, whom she had always looked up as the "most" amazing parents. Only if she knew that she is an exception in everything, anything

Standing near the window sill in her master bedroom, watching the rain splatter on the glass, making loud noises - almost as if picturizing the emotion that had build up in her - she blinked for the third time, letting out the fresh, hot tears to roll down her cheeks to finally stand hanging down to her slightly chubby, almost skull shaped jaw. For an eleven year old, she has the most perfectly defined features.

After what felt like for while, the sun slowly started uncover himself from the gloomy clouds indicating that the rain stopped. She came out of her thoughts when a tear droplet fell on her feet. She wiped her tears with her palm and dragged the nearest chair from her study table and sat near the sill watching Binky tending the floral plants in the garden.
