Yenai's POV
"You gon say something?" I asked. Erik had his face in his hands, shaking his leg up and down. It's been 5 minutes since I said what I said, and we've been sitting in silence ever since. "Erik! Talk to me! Please say something!" He looked up and took a deep breath.
"I need a drink," he whispered and got up, walking into the living room.
"Wha... a fucking drink really?" I screeched following him. He took a bottle of whiskey from the bar and opened it, pouring himself a glass. "Erik!"
"Sorry! It's just- FUCK! I'm trying to process this and it's just not fucking coming out into words!" He rambled. He guzzled the drink down and immediately poured himself another one. "Shit! Where are my fucking manners? Would you like a drink, Yenai? Oh, wait. She can't have a drink, Erik, because she might be fucking pregnant!" As he said 'pregnant', the glass fell from his grasp and his hands moved to his head. "Fuck, saying it out loud makes it fucking worse... Holy shit... I need air. I-I-I can't fucking breathe!" He grabbed his phone and keys off the counter and headed for the door.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"I just... I need some air, okay?" He breathed hard.
"No! We need to talk about this, Erik!" I pleaded.
"Please, Yenai. I just need 5 minutes to clear my head!" He insisted. "I'll be right back, I promise." Then he kissed the top of my head and left.

So... 5 minutes turned into 5 hours. I was laying in our bed, watching The Lion King. It was my way of distracting myself from the pregnancy test I took earlier that sat on the dresser. I refused to turn it over or even look in its direction. I couldn't stand my own thoughts so I increased the volume on the TV.
"Long live THE KING!" Scar cackled before throwing Mufasa off the side of the cliff.
"NOOOOOOO!" Simba cried, watching his dad fall into the stampede.
"I love this movie," a voice said from the door. I sat up to see Erik standing in the doorway, looking at the tv screen. My anger took over and I grabbed the lamp from the nightstand and hurled it in his direction. He jumped back as the lamp landed at his feet, smashing. "I deserved that..." He sat at the foot of the bed, sighing. "Yenai, I'm so sorry for leaving like that. I panicked and I didn't know what to do."
"You could've talked to me," I spat. "You could have stayed and we could have talk but you ran out! How the fuck do you think that makes me feel Erik?! Nothing's happening to you! This affects me!" He looked at me in disbelief.
"How can you say that?" He whispered. "You think this doesn't affect me? You think my life ain't gon change because of this?" I laid back down and he laid next to me, pulling me close to him. "We need to get a test. We have make sure-"
"I already took one," I said, pointing to the dresser. "It's over there."
"What does it say?" He asked sitting up.
"I don't know," I shrugged. "I didn't look. I can't. Once I look at it, this becomes real..." He got up from the bed and walked over to the dresser, picking up the test. He took a deep breath before turning it over. He stared at the test with an emotionless expression before sighing and closing his eyes.
"Yenai-"
"Stop," I whispered. "I already know." He sat back down and took my hand.
"You got options, ya know," he pointed out.
"What do you mean "you"? This isn't just my decision!"
"Believe it or not, ma, yeah it is," he disagreed. "It's your body. But whatever you decide... imma be there and I'll support you." In any other scenario, that would be the ideal answer. But this wasn't a Lifetime movie... I didn't wanna make this decision on my own.
"I don't want to decide this on my own... Because I know what I want I just want to make sure you're okay with it..."
"Imma be okay with whatever you choose-" I covered his mouth with my hand.
"Erik... I don't want you to be "okay" with it... I want it to be our decision. So how about on the count of three, we both say what we want?" I offered.
"Okay..." He took a deep breath. "If that's what you want."
"It is... Ready?" I asked. Erik shut his eyes and nodded. "1... 2... 3-"
"I think I/you should get an abortion!" We said at the same time. Erik opened his eyes.
"Oh no! We said different things!" He groaned, rubbing his hands over his face.
"No, Erik, we didn't!" I laughed, holding his hands. "We're on the same page and it's a fucking relief!" He kissed my hands.
"You sure about this?" He asked.
"Absolutely," I nodded. "I'm not ready for kids. I have my whole life in front of me and I'm just not ready yet."
"Good... I have shit I need to do before I become a dad," he told me. "I got shit with my uncle to settle still. I'm just tryna do right by my pops..." he pulled me into his chest, giving me a long hug. "Before we make any type of appointment, imma ask you again... Are you sure you want to do this?"
"I'm as sure as I'll ever be."
"You can change your mind, you know... I won't be mad."
"Erik..." I chuckled. "Make the appointment."
