GREY
"Yes I will," I answered.
Agrona nodded, his expression clearly showed that he was really happy. Nico nodded as well, keeping his face expressionless. He's been like that ever since he arrived in this world. Something happened to him, I'll need to find time to talk to him.
"Grey, while I'm glad you will help us, you will most likely need a rank in order to have any sort of influence. Which is why I will offer you a position of a Scythe," Agrona pointed his finger at me to cement his point. The air grew tense as his question set in. I could feel the surprise coming off of Caera despite not even looking at her.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't expect this. Along with the fact I'm one of the people he brought over, my strength greatly trumps anyone who lives in Dicathen. If I can hold myself against a Scythe then I can take on a white core.
"I accept."
"Amazing!" Agrona clapped his hands together. "We will make the announcement tomorrow. As for today I would like you both to stay the night so that we may prepare you for tomorrow."
"Wait, both of us?" I questioned, a bit surprised.
"I don't see why not. You Grey need to stay here and having Caera there will protect her because she's a connection to a Scythe." Agrona explained.
"From Alacryan's, not Dicathen. The second they know of our connection they'll target Caera," I retorted.
Agrona raised his brow. "Sorry, I assumed she would stay here. You are correct, her being next to you at the announcement would make her a target. Although, from what I can tell she's already powerful and Dicathen won't have the resources to target her. If you don't want her there then that's fine."
I looked at Caera for her opinion. Before talking she sighed. "I would prefer not to be there, at least not in sight."
Agrona nodded in understanding. "If that is all I'll have a maid escort you to a room."
"Agrona, I have one minor condition for me to become a Scythe," I took a risk, we've been casual this whole time and I've just complied with his request so I think this will be worth it.
"Oh? And what will that be?" Agrona asked.
"I want to know where my sister is at all times during the war. She's one of the few people who didn't care about my secret."
Agrona put his hand to his chin and pondered for a moment. "I believe that is acceptable, I promise I will keep your sister safe and alive."
I nodded, then Agrona called for a maid to lead Caera and I to a room. We followed the maid who remained silent the whole time. Upon arriving I noticed there are many other doors. I couldn't sense mana but I knew there were people inside. We opened the door to see a surprisingly fancy room. Well, not a surprise actually, it's Agrona's house, of course everything here would be top quality.
The maid motioned to one of the rooms, it was a huge wooden double door; the wood was a rather dark shade of brown with red linings of the handles and edges. One could easily mistake this as an entrance to a Highblood manor rather than a simple bed room. The maid easily opened the heavy doors heavy doors and we took a look inside
The bed was one of those fancy roofed beds with red drapes. The desks reflected light; they were so well polished. Each chair had golden laced cushions made from red cloth. I wouldn't be surprised if they were filled with phoenix feathers. The lights were off but sunlight beamed through the blinds. No sound was leaking through the walls, most likely due to the runes covering the edges.
