Between Bumpy

This idea came from a short Benrius story, it's really nothing like it at first but there is a scene based off it. I can't find the story though.

Also this is Kenji slander, I don't think kenji would do this actually but it's for the story 😍‼️ don't hate me

     I couldn't see anything... the sky was probably full of stars, but the tall trees blocked any light from the sky. The moon was no where to be seen, hiding with the sun. I waved my hands around, trying to avoid anything in my way.

   "Ben...?" I whispered, trying not to wake anyone up. It was a cold night, and I was up moving around like a clueless chicken to get some answers.

——- flashback to around four days ago

Four days ago

   everyone has been at ease. Ben was back and alive, and we finally had a chance to leave this stupid island. All we had to do was wait, wait for us to get enough food, wait for us to find fuel, and wait for it to turn day.

   We worked hard all day to get everything ready, everyone was tired. Tomorrow would be the day we'd leave this island, where we go back to our normal lives. Everyone seemed happy about this

Everyone but ben.

   "Ben what are you doing?" Brooklyn asked, turning her attention to Ben, who was leaving his bed.

   Everyone was sitting at the edge of their bed, talking about how they couldn't wait to get home. We were all tired but excited. Nothing could interrupt us now. Nothing.

   "oh...uh I'm just going on a walk with Bumpy. Im not that tired yet" Ben said as he slowly climbed down. He walked out of the fence and walked along the edge of the woods with bumpy, before disappearing into the night.

   Everyone watched as he left, saying nothing til he was out of sight.

   "I can't be the only one who thought that was werid?" Sammy said while looking around at the others.

   Kenjis feet dangled from the top bunk. He kicked his feet, missing me by only centimeters.

    "your not the only one...maybe he is just stressed about going home?" Yaz shrugged, clearly not thinking to hard about it.

   "I think Yaz might be right" I said, " I mean Ben was forced to come here, he wouldn't even be in this situation if it wasn't for his mom. Maybe they don't get along" I suggested, waving my hands in the air as I spoke.

   "It's been...who knows how long! I'm sure even if he didn't get along with his mom he would want to see her?" Brooklyn said, more as a questionable statement.

   "who cares, we are leaving tomorrow anyway. I'm sure whatever Ben is going through he can figure it out himself by then" Kenji said as he tucked his feet into his own bed and laid down. "We should head to bed so we can go home as soon as possible.

   "way to be rude" Sammy said, as she also laid down.

   Everyone followed along, laying down and wrapping their blankets around them. It was cold that night. They all tucked themselves in to stay warm, Although no one closed their eyes.

   It was a long silence, a very long silence. An hour managed to pass by with still none of them falling asleep. You could tell because everyone rustled around every 5 minutes.

   Finally, I closed my eyes. Thinking about everything that has happened. How we were having fun, then we were in danger, then how we lost our guides, then how we were in danger, then how we were in danger, then how we were leaving, and then how we lost... wait.
