Hello! This is a supplementary playlist for A Gray Llove with some annotations to show how I see this story and these songs fitting together:

1. "I Ran" -- The Seagulls

Seems like an appropriate way to start a playlist dedicated to Lloyd Hansen.

"And I ran, I ran so far away/ I just ran, I ran all night and day/ I couldn't get away."

2. "Met Him Last Night" -- Demi Lovato & Ariana Grande

These lyrics scream Lloyd Hansen:

"I've seen the devil, yeah, I met him last night/ Had conversation, yeah, I think he's alright/ Seemed kinda funny, yeah, he kinda my type..."

3. "ocean eyes" -- Billie Elish

It's my belief that Sasha spends a good deal of time mourning Lloyd and his ocean eyes once she figures out what he's done...

"Burning cities and napalm skies/ Fifteen flares inside those ocean eyes..."

4. "Downtown Lights" -- Annie Lennox cover

This is a song to mark the beginning of Lloyd and Sasha -- their relationship as CIA mission partners and then as they fall in love.

"Tonight and every night/ Let's go walking down this empty street/ Let's walk in the cool evening night/ Wrong or right/ Be at my side/ The downtown lights/ It will be all right..."

5. "Short Skirt/Long Jacket" -- CAKE

THIS is a Sasha song.

"I want a girl with a mind like a diamond/ I want a girl who knows what's best/ I want a girl with shoes that cut/ And eyes that burn like cigarettes..."

6. "Hold On, I'm Comin'" -- Sam & Dave

This song is on the playlist in an attempt to match both the "Wild Child" and "Silver Bird" vibes from The Gray Man's actual soundtrack, as well as because it captures Lloyd's unyielding devotion to Sasha after her accident.

"Don't you ever be sad/ Lean on me when times are bad/ When the day comes and you are down/ In a river of trouble and about to drown/ Just hold on, I'm comin'/ Hold on, I'm comin'..."

7. "Wild Child" -- The Black Keys

We know and love this song as the one that closes out The Gray Man, but listening to the lyrics also made me think of both Six and Lloyd somehow:

"I'm just a stranger/ With a twisted smile and a wandering eye/ Your heart is in danger/ Come close now, let me tell you a lie..."

8. "You Know I'm No Good" -- Amy Winehouse

This is...a Lloyd song.

"I told you I was trouble/ Yeah you know that I'm no good..."

9. "I Know Places" -- Taylor Swift

This is another spy romance song -- also sort of a mentality for Lloyd, I think.

"Something happens when everybody finds out/ See the vultures circling, dark clouds/ Love's a fragile little flame, it could burn out..."

10. "Sympathy for the Devil" — The Rolling Stones

"I'm a man of wealth and taste..." = Lloyd

11. "Psycho Killer" -- The Talking Heads

I saw this on another Lloyd Hansen playlist and it just felt right...it's kinda what he is...check out the full playlist (https://open.spotify.com/user/s0gctlavec0bfn0y3e21lxrxv/playlist/0LeuUETwzNPxSzx7RWK165?si=9Tcq4l5mShyW81V8GKG44Q ) by happyaccident on Spotify!

12. "Sky High" -- Henry Jackman, The Gray Man OST

*action scene to stand in for the Hansen-Lewellyn CIA mission era*

13. "Fix You" -- Sam Smith cover

This whoooooooole song stands in for the part in this story when Sasha is laid up recovering -- for real -- and Lloyd is doing everything to help her heal.

14. "Earned It" -- the Weeknd

The darker side of the aforementioned healing time. (The two songs meld well from one into the other, if you listen to them back-to-back.)

15.  "Make Up Your Mind" -- Florence + the Machine

Another song for Sasha, this time post-accident as she's struggling to get a handle on things. The edge in the lyrics also reminds me of Suzanne as she tries to move up the CIA ladder and takes some matters into her own hands.

"Make up your mind.../ Let me live or let me love you/ While you've been saving your neck.../ I've been breaking mine for you.../ The power is on, the guillotine hums/ My back's to the wall, go on, let it fall, oh/ Make up your mind.../ Before I make it up for you..."

16. "Always Gray" -- Henry Jackman, The Gray Man OST

*a track to represent Six sneaking around doing his thing in this story and being undeniably very cool*

17. "I Know What You Did Last Summer" -- Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello

If you switch the feminine/masculine points of view, this song fits what happens (more-or-less) during the fallout between Lloyd and Sasha near the end of this story.

"I know what you did last summer.../Look me in the eyes, my lover.../ I know what you did last summer/ Tell me where you've been..."

18. "Silver Bird" — Mark Lindsay

SIX'S SONG! I love how it's a song about something 'silver' and he's the 'gray' man... personally I see it as the song between Claire and Six as he's the one to take his little 'lady' away to safety during some pretty awful scenarios in her young life. In this story, Six also sort of looks out for Sasha when she needs an extra hand, so this is perhaps his kind-hearted manifesto.

"Silver bird, fly my lady away/ Silver bird, take her over the bay/ Silver bird, give my lady a ride/ And let her go see what's on the other side..."

19. "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" -- Amy Winehouse

The big question between Lloyd and Sasha: will they stay together? Is it love?

"I'd like to know that your love is love I can be sure of.../ So tell me now, 'cause I won't ask again.../ Will you still love me tomorrow?"
