Memories flood my mind. She was my best friend, She was there when no one else was. When my father left, she was there. Taking care of me. We used to go on walks, all the time. Talking about school. Drama. How can I lose her?! I snapped back to reality. Erick puts his jacket around me. "How are you?" I wipe my tears on my wrist. I sigh and shrug. I'm not in the mood for talking. Jake is a blank canvas. You can't read his exspression. I lay my head on Erick's shoulder, slowly falling asleep.

I am shook awake, I quickly open my eyes hoping for good news. The room was blurry, I make out my sister. I stand up as fast as my tired legs can and see Lydia. Oxygen pumping into her nose. An IV stabbed in her arm. My father was responsible for this. If he didn't come, I wouldn't be in this crappy hospital. My sister wouldn't have got in a car accident. Our family wouldn't be falling apart. "Brittany, you need to eat!" My mom begs. I sigh and give in. I take the hospital turkey sandwich. It tasted bland. I sigh, My dad walks up to me. "May we talk?" he asked. I automatically walk the other direction. "Brittany!" I walk faster. I bump into Erick, He puts his arms around me, I feel safe again. "Wanna go on a walk?" he asks. I Nod my head, remembering my phone is in the car.

After getting out of that crappy death center I calm down. I open my car door, my phone buzzes rapidly. Mostly from Instagram notifications. I'm surprised on that everyone is commenting on my photo. My phone dings.

Lauren- u okay?

Alyssa-TEXT BACK

and other friends. I put my two closest friends in a group chat,

Me-sorry lyds is in the hospital. I don't know if she will make it!

Lauren- OMG WHAT?!

Alyssa-WHERE ARE YOU?

Me- Oceanview, with Erick.

both-OOOOO!

me-Childish much?

Lauren-We are on our way.

Erick tells me he had to go to the restroom and leaves his phone on the bench, while i'm waiting his phone buzzes. I glance at it

BABE<3- I miss you so much! Can you come over 2day? I log Into his phone, I scroll through his messages.

OMG! HE IS CHEATING?! I was furious! A car slams its brakes. I look up quickly, "Britt what's wrong?" They get out of the car and Lauren asked with a Strawberry smoothie, "Oh by the way this is for you." Alyssa says. Lauren hands it me and I thank her. "Erick is cheating." They raise their eyebrows, "WHAT?!" they look madder than me! He walks back out, "Oh h-" he starts to say "HOW DARE YOU CHEAT ON BRITTANY?!" they yell at him. "I can explain!" he says. I respond "YOU can explain to the whole school that we are over!" I walk up to him and dump the smoothie on is gelled hair. Erick opens his mouth in agape. "Now I have to see my dying sister bye!" All three of us walked into the hospital.

The news I walked in to changed my life forever.
