During the battle with the beast of the apocalypse 'Trihexa', Issei fought with all his might and courage and ensured the sealing of the beast. But after the battle ended, he suddenly felt weak and passed out. In his mind, he saw the heavenly red dragon Ddraig glowing.
Ddraig: (It seems that my time has come to an end partner. I can no longer hold on. But promise me one thing before I go. Promise me that you will never give up. No matter the situation, you will always move forward. Because that's the Issei Hyoudou I know. So long my friend......)
After saying these words Ddraig's consciousness disappeared with the red glow. Issei knew what this ment. Loosing his friend and partner, he fell into depression. In this time the girls stopped talking to him. He just thought that the girls wanted to give him some personal space to grieve and mourn for his lost comrade. But what was actually happening was beyond anything he could imagine.
A month had passed after the supposed death of Ddraig. Issei started to get better and decided to return to his normal life. He woke up in the morning but found no one at home. He slowly got ready. He then walked into a room that was beautiful in the sense. Red carpets, red bed sheet, furnished wooden furniture all the necessary things were there. But the room lacked only one thing. And that was the presence of the love of his life, the heir to the Gremory family 'Rias Gremory'. Issei hadn't seen her in weeks. He was missing her a lot. He was missing her warm embrace. Issei though to himself,'I haven't seen the girls in weeks. I miss them so much.'
After a few moments, Issei left his house and went to school. In a month of mourning his friend, his perverted nature died down. He was no longer driven by lust anymore. After he finished to class, many of the students noticed the change in him. He didn't talk much, looked depressed and kept to himself most of the time. The most shocking part is that when his perverted friends tried to take him peeping, he flat out refused them on the spot.
After the classes ended, he went straight to the ORC clubroom. Because Rias and Akeno graduated highschool and went to pursue studies in college, Azia and Ravel were selected to be the new president and vice president respectively. After Issei entered the room, he wasn't welcomed with the most warm attitude. Still Kiba was very thrilled to see his best friend recover and make a return to life. When Issei entered he saw Azia doing the paperwork of the club whilst others just sitting there. Though many of his friends were there, the girls just ignored him. After he went to Azia and asked what was the problem, she just gave the excuse of being too tired from work. Issei gave a questioning look to Kiba who just shrugged in response.
A little bit after that a red magic circle appeared at the room bearing the symbol of the Gremory clan. Rias and Akeno arrived at the room and smiled at everyone besides Issei. It's like they were purposely ignoring him. He walked forward and showed the biggest smile he could show and said,"I'm finally back, Rias and Akeno!" They heard the words spoken by him and just nodded with a fake smile on their faces. And then proceeded to talk to the others again ignoring Issei. Finally Kiba asked them,"How's your college studies going on?" "Oh it's fine. Our fellow classmates are very nice and our senpai is also very kind and handsome~" said Akeno with a sexually aroused voice and looking at Issei with a smirk. Issei was very confused about the situation but seeing that he was being ignored, he decided to go home. Only Kiba bid him farewell on his way out.
