The next day flew by pretty quick most of the day I was working on the fighting techniques that Andre had shown me. The more I thought about it the more I thought maybe it was a bad idea to go on this undercover mission. I mean I did just join SSS and only have minimal training, but I did have Nuri with me and she is pretty powerful if my sense about her is correct. Plus she has been around the block as a reporter so she can most likely have us fit right in. Still what Andre said still made me feel uneasy if this is going to be the feast of Dionysus and it really is as crazy as Andre said it was, why was Nuri wanting to go. I mean I am sure she could find somebody that could protect her better than me easy without the strings of the SSS.
"Grog what do you think about Nuri?" I asked Grog through our Mental Link.
"I think she is on the level she has not lied to us yet we would have sensed it. Besides it would not do her any good to betray us she would be caught up in the hoopla. I think that she is just a good person trying to do something good in a bad situation." Grog said.
"I get the same feel Grog, but my common sense is tingling and I just can't get this feeling out of my head that this was a bad idea. Then again I need to connect with people who are going to get me ahead Nuri will be a major source of info on finding dad and info on any other case."
"Plus it will be amazing for your social life." Grog said with a mischievous smile.
"Grog how many times do I have to tell you there is no romantic involvement with Nuri she is a teammate and nothing more"
"You know what they say about danger Maxey it's the most potent of love generators."
"How many soaps have you been watching lately?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Well we did just get the soap opera channel on the tv. I have been watching that for the last 10 hours why do you ask?"
"Life is not like one of your movies that you and dad watch all the time people don't just come in and make them stop in their tra..." I said as I could not finish my sentence as coming through the elevator door was Nuri. The way she looked now made her go form the 7 I saw at Avalon to a 9 verging on 10. Nuri walked in dressed in what looked like a modernized white toga with one sleeve that covered her left arm and the other arm left bare. A golden belt loosely fitted around her hips that led to her skirt that stopped just short of her knees the outfit as a whole hugged her so tightly it almost left nothing to the imagination she looked like a greek fire goddess. The fire around her hair reflected off her golden jewelry and made quite a sight.
"Hope you're not that speechless when we get down to the feast, people might stare." Nuri said with a smile as I summoned up my composure again.
"I was just a little surprised that you are wearing something so flashy I would think we would want to not be noticed." I said.
"Believe me Max trying to not be noticed at this party is what will get you noticed fast." She said handing me what looked like the male counterpart to her toga and a long haired black wig and face goatee.
"Are the wig and goatee really necessary Nuri it's not like any one will recognize me down there?"
"You may be new Max, but information down there is just as good as gold down there it would not be good for SSS to know you had yourself a self-appointed mission. There are plenty of crocked officers who would love to get some leverage so they can twist a new guy into being their patsy. Now go put it on we don't have long." She said moving her hand in a shooing motion.
