Chapter 4: drug tigers and Cowboy Grog

From what Andre told me this new drug made any summon or summoner who took it go hulk and rampage at double of their strength. It was mostly showing up around illegal summon fights and when larger more powerful summons took it they pretty much rampaged across the competition. There did not seem to be any physical side effect for summons who took the drug, but summoners who used it too long hard their hearts give out and their muscles rip to shreds. Which pretty much lead to allot of bodies being found in places where fights took place. Which was nothing new for Nocturne the illegal fights had been going on for quite a while and move from place to place to keep the SSS off their toes. This was definitely something to talk to the Captain about, but when the elevator doors opened the elevator was filled with bright light and on the other side of the doors was the fire elemental girl that I saw dancing in the middle of the club before I got into that fight with the gang.

“I was hoping it was you coming down the elevator” she said with a sweet smile.

Being this close to her I could now see more of her features her face have sharp Arabian features, her hair was not just fire she had actual hair that came down to the small of her back in a pony tail that did however had flames and sparks coming off of it. The most stunning part of her was probably the eyes they glowed with an orange ember that was as bright as an actual fire and I am sure could illuminate the dark. 

“You wanting to take a swing at me too?” I said stepping out of the elevator just enough to not get sent back up.

“With the way you took care of those other guys I am sure it would be a challenge, but no I am more interested in a dance then a fight.” She said holding her hand out.

“As much as I would love to dance with a woman such as yourself duty calls no rest for the wicked and all that.” I said trying to walk past her, but she put an arm in front of me a card in her hand I took it and read it. The card said “Nuri reporter Hub gazette”. “Oh now I see your sniffing around for a story sorry Nuri, but you are asking the wrong guy.”

“Maybe, but you are the newest recruit for the SSS which means you still have honest eyes to what you think the organization does is right or not.”

“I would not join if I thought they were doing the wrong thing besides I know the way you reporter types work when it comes to SSS stories it’s either a glory story of the triumph of the councils efforts to keep human world safe or trying to say that the council is trying to keep things under wraps and control things from behind so which is it?”

“I only look to shine light on the truth Mr. Hendricks.” She said and looked at her watch. “I have to go meetings to keep, but my number is on the card so if you have anything to talk about business or personal you know where to get me.”

I walked her out of the club and she disappeared into a portal outside. I got my bike out of its usual hiding place and started towards the HQ.

Nuri was definitely looking for something to put into a story, but I did not sense any false words when she seemed interested in me. The thing is though human summon relations when they get personal is pretty tricky. When Zeus and all of the really powerful summons of the past started sowing their seed across the land it messed things up around the world pretty bad so laws came into place that there be no genetic mixing of humans and summons. That is why you don’t see them around anymore. Of course there is no law about dating one and it would be nice to have something to do on my down time. I caught my train of thought and stopped myself there would be no good that could come from that kind of relationship even more she is a summon she is also a reporter. If any info that was no supposed to get out did through me the Captainwould fry me faster than a corndog.

“Oh come on Maxey everyone needs some way to let off some steam, besides that summon was a real hot tamale.” Grog said.

“Job comes first Grog we are not here to have a good time we are here to protect and find info that could lead to finding dad” I said back to him in mind speak.
