If I never see another piece of paper it will be too soon I had to fill out Registration forms, case reports, and insurance forms all in one night. My body still ached from the hit I took from the Troll’s club, guess I should not complain seeing as without my stone skin I would have been turned to jelly. This job is definitely going to keep me on my toes. Even when I searched the streets of Nocturne for those two weeks never took a hit that hard. Walking out of the SSS HQ it turned back into a ragged building that looked like it was about to fall over. Walking over to an alley across the street I got my motorbike out of its hiding place. Another gift from my father he said that a cop on the beat should have a nice set of wheels to impress the ladies. My dad was into the macho action heroes of the 80s and I think he thought that I would become one. Either way I liked the fact that it let me maneuver through small alleys faster than a car could, plus it gave me a reason to unsummon Grog and stay low profile. Still though I had to listen to Grog want to put a side car on it for him after I got it took forever to get the idea out of his head.
“Where we going now Maxey to stop crime, save damsels in distress, or go bad cop on some smugglers?” Grog said with an excited voice as I mounted the bike.
“I am going home after a night like that I might sleep for a month.” I said revving up the engine and speeding down the streets.
“Oh it was not that bad Maxey you only got hit once then the captain saved you from the mean old Troll.” Grog said with a chuckle under his voice.
“You know what I feel from our connection Grog you know how much that hurt probably the most impact I have ever faced.”
“Yea, but I have had partners who have gone through allot more pain then that before and still live so don’t sweat it Maxey you will be taking two hits from Trolls in no time” Grog said not even trying to hide his chuckles anymore.
I ignored Grog as I came to a set of buildings that was in a circle drive. The buildings where office buildings at one point, but since the decay of this part of the city they have been turned into a home for anybody brave enough to take them.
For my building that was Andre Jones a six foot eight monster of a man who I met in my adventures in the back streets of Nocturne. When I stumbled upon some illegal summon fights and did not realized I stepped right into the ring where Andre was having his last good bye fight. Thinking that I was his opponent he punched at me and sent me flying even with my rock skin on my chest and when I got back up he said that I was the first one to ever survive a full on punch so he wanted me for his entourage. Oh, I guess I forgot to mention that he is also in a group that he formed with his summon called Siren Street. A mixture of raps lyrical power with a haunting melody is what he called it. Really from what I have heard of them they are actually pretty good of course when you have an actual siren in your group I am sure the musical value goes up.
Walking into the first floor is pretty chaotic as it’s a club that Andre set up using most of his fight money. Andre was defiantly not a stupid man he knew that his music might not take off at first so he invested in business to amplify his chances. He even convinced all of the normal world gangs who previously occupied this place to vacate just by talking to them. That is the other thing about Andre he is not like a normal summoner who uses a sword or spear. His weapon is his voice, the fact that he is partnered with the siren gives him influence over people. Normal world people have no chance at ignoring his commands unless they are super willed. Summoners have a better chance at ignoring it although it goes by how much more powerful their summon is to his. I am pretty sure he has never tried to use his power on me yet although there was one time he asked if I could bring him a sandwich and I did it without thinking.
