Chapter 10: Super Dad (?) Part 1

3rd POV

Ninomae Ina'nis was ina predicament.

Never in her life did she think that her Papa whom she loves and cherishes, would one day become her colleague and kouhai.

Just the thought of her precious Papa calling her senpai sent shivers down her spine.

It's not like she hates it if it does happen, but it just felt weird and foreign to her. She was also sure Rushia-senpai, Fubuki-senpai, and Mio-senpai would feel the same as her.

Then again, it was a great teasing material towards her Papa if it ever comes down to it.

That brought a small giggle to Ina as she walked down the aisle of EN's HQ. Coincidentally, her giggle attracted a certain shark's attention.

"Inaaaa~ What are you giggling about?"

Unperturbed, Ina greeted Gura with a small "wah" before walking alongside her. Ina then told Gura about her predicament.

"I see, I guess that is weird huh?"

"You don't know the half of it."

Ina sighed helplessly as Gura adopted a thinking pose while walking.

"Well, why don't you talk about your Papa first? I don't exactly know all the details about him."

Ina stopped and stared at Gura in mild shock.

"Did Ame possess you or something?"

A tick mark grew on Gura's forehead as she lightly glared at Ina before huffing.

"Oi! I'm not that bad okay?"

An amused grin appeared on Ina's lips as she silently recounted Gura's mishaps.

Gura who somehow, felt like Ina was thinking about her wrongly, huffed once more and crossed her arms over her chest.

Just when Ina was about to say something, someone's voice floated over behind her.

"Oh hey, you two! Wait up!"

While Ina turned around to face whoever it was, Gura titled her body sideways and looked around Ina.

"Oh Kiara!"

"Kiaraaaa! Helloooo!"

The now confirmed Kiara slowed down her pace and waved her hands to Ina and Gura.

"Inaaaa, why didn't you tell us your Papa was coming over soon?"

That stopped Ina in her tracks as the sentence sunk in, before realization settled after.

"Eh?! He's coming over?!"

"He... Didn't tell you? Calli just got a word from our manager, Enma-san, that he was coming over to check up on you."

Ina blushed in panic, not anticipating such situation to occur all of a sudden. Sure she was glad to spend time with her Papa, but it was too sudden for her.

"O-oh no, do I look dishevealed? Or messy? Kiara, Gura~~~"

Gura and Kiara deadpanned as they watched their friend meltdown in panic at the news of their parent coming over.

"This... Isn't normal, right?" Kiara asked the obvious. To which Gura nodded along.

"It shouldn't be that bad, usually whenever this happens to me, I just panic before getting excited... Nothing this drastic."

Kiara pondered over Gura's words before she made a decision, one that involves her hand and a cheek. Ina's cheek. One resounding slap later.

"Snap out of it girl! It's just your Pa, stop panicking over it like a lovestruck maiden!"

Ina pouted as she sat with Gura and Kiara at the front lobby, patiently waiting for said Pa.

"You don't understand, I was told that I get weird around him... Very clingy, territorial, and even outright aggressive to anyone who tries to make small talk with him."

Both ladies beside her winced at the notion. They can't imagine the usually calm and collected Ninomae Ina'nis to show that kind of side.

"What am I gonna do? I might hurt someone accidentally later." Kiara and Gura glanced at each other, clueless as to what to do. None of them knew how to deal with the sudden predicament.

"I overhead what you guys were talking about and might I suggest trying to hide from him?"

The three girls flinched from the voice beside the bench they were sitting on, only to relax as they knew whose voice it belongs to.

"Calli?! What kind of suggestion is that?!" Kiara asked in shocked and Calli just shrugged her shoulders at her.

"It was just a suggestion Kusotori, no need to take it seriously."

Gura facepalmed as the two immortals went arguing against each other, again.

Ina on the other hand was giggling to herself, Calli's words repeated over and over again in her head. It caught Gura's attention and she sweatdropped at her.

"You- you aren't gonna take that seriously are you Ina?"

Ina smiled sweetly at Gura, making her back away.

"Whatever do you mean Gura?" This drew Kiara and Calli's attention back and they saw Ina just smiling. However, they also noticed the portal that immediately appeared beneath their feet.

"Ina... Don't you dare-- AHHHHH"

"Kyahhhhh!"

"Goddamnit Ina!!!!!!"

"Fufufu~"

Amelia watched all of that in silence for about three seconds before bursting out in laughter.

"O-oh man, Enma-san is gonna be so mad at them later."

"Why am I gonna be mad, Ame?"

Amelia stiffened upon hearing a voice behind her, turning her head she saw Enma, their manager along with Kaito who was wearing an amused smirk on his face.

"Uhh well-" Amelia was cut off by Enma's glare and she tried her best not to squirm under her gaze, thankfully Enma sighed and looked away from her. She scanned the lobby and she didn't find who she was looking for.

"Where's the girls Ame? Shouldn't they be here? Excluding Council of course."

"InawaspanickingthenCallisuggestedshehidebutCallionlysaidthatasajokebutInastartedgigglingandbeforetheyknewit,Inamadeaportalbeneaththeirfeetandpoof.Gone."

Enma deadpanned at Amelia's stutter but Kaito chuckled at it.

"Ina's doing it again. That girl, why is she always like this."

Both ladies swiveled their heads to Kaito in confusion. Kaito saw their confusion and refused to elaborate, leaving Enma and Amelia confused and itching to know more.

"Well, let's go find the girls then. Lucky for us we have a detective hm?"

Amelia beamed at Kaito for that, thankful as well to get Enma's ire away from her.

"I'll leave you two to that, I still have paperworks to go through. And Ame, please don't blow up the office." Amelia winced but looked away innocently for her part while Kaito shook his head in amusement. Both of them watched as Enma walked deeper towards the office.

"Hey Amelia right?" Kaito wondered out loud. Amelia hummed in thought and stared at Kaito.

"I got a plan to draw them out, are you in?"

Amelia suddenly got shivers down her spine when she saw the smile on Kaito's face. It wasn't the usual gentle and caring smile he has when she first met him. No, this one was cunning and playful.

"How good are you at screaming for help detective?"

The fear on Amelia's face only made Kaito's smile more evil as he lunged at Amelia and knocked her out.

"Now then, time to get my little Ina out."
