Rena's POV:
I yawned and stretched. I licked my lips and my eyes turned to slits. I realized I hadn't eaten yesterday which was probably why I was so hungry. A low growl formed in my throat as my ears twitched. I heard a rabbit scamper in the woods which was quite far away. I was used to eating chickens, and steak but a rabbit would have to do. I leapt out of the open window and put my nose to the ground. I had automatically transformed into my creature form and I basically was on a rampage to eat before the urge controlled me completely. I sped off through the woods trying to find something the rabbit scent was lost but deer scent was abundant. I spotted one in a clearing a buck I looked around for a doe or a fawn but alas a buck would have to do. I growled and lay low to the ground. The buck had no idea what was coming. I leapt from my hiding spot and caught the look of fear and horror on the buck in time. He swirled his head around faster than I could move and I was slammed face first into those antlers. I yipped out in pain and protest before trying once more to grab hold of my meal. The buck tried to run but I grabbed onto his leg bad move. A hoof kicked and shoved my mouth off. I growled once more and leapt at him. This time my teeth locked in on his neck. I smiled and let the buck see what he had done. He squirmed trying to get out of my grip but I wasn't going down so easy. I bit down harder and this time the body stopped moving. I smiled and began to rip bits of flesh away from the corpse. I smelled another presence. I cocked my head and looked around. My instincts told me to protect my kill. A gleam of orange caught my eye. Before I had time to react a black furred canis was growling at me. "This is mine" I growled through clenched teeth. "Well I would act a little more respectful to your alpha" the black canis smirked. "I don't live in Forest Hollow" I lied. "Ok well I still would rather fight you for it than find my own" he cackled. "Oh you're on" I growled. I flicked my tail and I turned invisible. "Well I see your a vulpes but that doesn't help your case" the alpha laughed. "Oh it will" I snickered. He was confused but that was the perfect time for me to act. Thunder rumbled above me as I concentrated my anger into the clouds. A lightning bolt hit him and he fell backwards. "Oh looks like I won too bad for being a weak vulpes" I smirked. The alpha growled "Oh you're not just any vulpes you're a mixed breed am I right?". My face got hot "Ok fine you win just don't tell anyone" I huffed. "Fine have it your way" The alpha grabbed half of the deer and left me with the rest. I was surprised he didn't just take the whole thing. "Consider it a gift I'm not heartless" the alpha smiled. I smiled the slightest bit and wagged my tail. I ate the rest and trotted back to the town. "Rena you have to tell me what happened to you" Dakota waved her hand in front of my face. "Huh?" I shook off my memory from this morning and looked at her. "Oh it was nothing-" I twirled the fork around on the table. "Rena your blushing c'mon tell me it looks like you're in love" Dakota smiled. "What no I'm not!" I growled. "Calm down, it's just a guess," Dakota frowned. "Sorry I don't know what's got into me" I turned away. "Well I think that you're in love prove me wrong" Dakota nudged my shoulder. "Well I'm not. I just went wild mode today. I didn't have enough to eat, that's all" I shrugged. "Oh well at least you didn't kill anyone this time" Dakota offered a smile. "I guess so- I did kill a buck though" I laughed. "You actually took down a buck" Dakota looked surprised. "Yeah I didn't even need my powers" I smiled. "Wow, that's an accomplishment," Dakota replied. I shrugged and played around with my steak. "Ok I know you didn't tell me the whole story Rena what's wrong?" Dakota put a hand on my shoulder. "The alpha," I whispered. "What about the alpha?" Dakota looked at me. "I spoke with him last night when I was looking for you..." I started. "What was he like? Was he rude and cruel? Did he disrespect you?"  Dakota frowned. "No not anything like that at all he was kind and funny and kinda aggressive but that was it" I smiled. "Really I assumed he'd be y'know aggressive and rude and disrespectful to vulpes" Dakota was shocked. "I thought he would be too but he wasn't any of that" I shrugged. "So you like him?" Dakota asked. "What no I never said that! I met him sure but that doesn't mean I like him!" I growled. "You should ask him on a date," Dakota shrugged. "I'm not just gonna ask the alpha on a date" I folded my arms across my chest. "Just send him a mystery letter from a secret admirer or something" Dakota suggested. "I'm not gonna do that either! Besides, the royal family comes down from the palace into the town once a year for the Moonlit Festival, remember?" I replied. "Oh right I forgot about that, it's supposed to be soon right?" Dakota asked. "Yeah it's supposed to come right after the Moonlight Gala but I'm never gonna catch him alone... You know how many assassins try to kill the royal family during that festival" I laughed. "Oh right I forgot about that too" Dakota laughed. "I might be able to talk with him though and that's fine because I'd rather take things slow anyway" I shrugged. "How bout you D you have a special someone?" I asked her. "Well I haven't been very lucky trying to find a mate no- but that's alright love will come when it does no rush" Dakota shrugged. I looked at the town center and the decorations for the festival were already being put up.
