Howler's POV:

I finally entered the palace and transformed into my bipedal form. I realized that I was missing my shirt but I didn't care. Everyone in the palace should be asleep anyway. I slowly tiptoed up the stairs and past the two very familiar rooms. I stopped whispering and murmuring could be heard coming from Echo's room. I put my ear to the door and listened. Whoever was inside grew quiet. I opened the door and paused. Echo stared at me, her blue eyes wide. I looked at the bed she was in, Cobalt was next to her. Both of them were fully clothed; they just happened to be in the same bed together. "What are you two doing?" I blinked twice. "Well Echo wanted some company and since she was injured I thought it would be the gentleman thing to do" Cobalt sheepishly replied, his face bright red. "Uh huh sure well it's late so just don't do anything" I growled resting my hand on the bridge of my nose. "Well you're the one who's not wearing a shirt romeo" Echo laughed. I paused and stared at her. Her laughter faded as she realized I was serious about something. I grumbled and walked off. I couldn't stop thinking about Rena that night. Oh it was heaven I never knew having a mate or atleast a girl I liked was this exhilarating. I had the most fun I had ever had in my lifetime, at least the most fun I can remember. I slowly walked to my room recalling what I could remember of tonight before I had to leave it behind for tomorrow. I shivered the slightest bit when I remembered how her cold hands felt against my warm skin. The look of her beautiful orange eyes. Rena what a beautiful creature I laughed to myself. I laid on the bed and pictured her lying next to me all night every night. It was heaven just thinking about it. I didn't know I was this into women until I actually met one- kissed one. Her kiss was unimaginable. I don't know how to explain how lovely she was. Finally I drifted off into peaceful sleep. My dream however was an odd one. I floated in the stars and looked around until I saw my mother. It was odd seeing her in a dream but I didn't think much of it. "Howler, my first born, I must tell you something very important" her silky tone told me. "Yes mother? Is this a dream or a vision? I must know" I asked. "I must warn you about a prophecy that was foretold by the protectors of this land long ago" My mother said. "Who told you? And what was it?" I tilted my head. "Someone of great power foretold a great prophecy concerning you, my child" she replied. I looked to the moon that had begun to illuminate. My mother's mouth opened and her eyes turned white and glowing. A voice that was not hers said this; On the last full moon of the fourth season the impure beasts shall rise again the sixth alpha will gain his true power but he will not be the one who shall stop these creatures. One of grey and red will lead the alpha to victory. I awoke in a cold sweat and tried to remember what I had just heard. My mother told me something concerning me was going to happen. I was the sixth alpha. I tried to think more into this prophecy. What creatures or beasts did the vision mean? One of grey and red. I practically yelled. Why did these things have to be so complicated to figure out they can't just tell you what they mean I thought. I looked out the window and it was now morning. I went to the mirror to find I was covered in sweat. I began to do my daily routine and tried to think of what it all meant. One of my servants entered and noticed my worried expression. "Sir, if I may assist you to get ready you look distressed" he said. "I'm fine! Just thinking is all!" I growled. The servant stepped back and I noticed he was shivering. "Y- yes sir if you insist I shall leave you be" he stuttered. I gave a slight nod and finished getting ready. I noticed myself without a shirt and it brought back the events of last night. I hardly slept because of the nightmares I kept having. I shook my head and walked out of my room. I finally made my way down the stairs and entered the dining room. I noticed Echo and Cobalt animatedly talking with one another. "Hey Howler you ok?" Echo frowned. "I'm fine tired that's all" I laid my head on the table. "What kept you up last night?" Cobalt tilted his head. "I had dreams... more like nightmares and I had this vision thing-" I paused I probably sounded crazy right now. "Go on we're listening" Echo gave a slight smile. "I saw mom- and she told me this prophecy thing" I shook my head. "Did it have anything to do with the moon?" Cobalt asked. "Yes I was actually floating in the sky facing the moon in my vision" I remarked. "It must mean something important then what was the prophecy about?" Cobalt replied. "Something about impure beasts and the sixth alpha and someone of grey and red fur" I sighed. "Huh that's strange, aren't you the sixth alpha Howler?" Echo asked. "Yeah I found that out when mom said the prophecy had something concerning me" I replied. "Well we figured out that part, what about the rest- I'm not sure about the grey and red fur but maybe the impure beasts are like inner demons or something?" Cobalt shook his head. "I'm not sure the prophecy said that me and whoever is the one of grey and red would stop the beasts which means they most definitely are physical" I groaned. "Well what else did it say about the sixth alpha?" Echo asked. "Something about regaining my full power or something" I muttered. "Well so far we don't have many clues besides the impure beasts are physical creatures, the sixth alpha meaning you and anything else you remember Howler?" Cobalt offered a smile. "Something about the beasts rising on the last full moon of the fourth season" I sighed. "The last full moon of the fourth season is tomorrow," Cobalt remarked. "Well then we better figure out the rest of the prophecy before then" Echo gulped. I paused and remembered last night someone of grey and red... If I wasn't mistaken Rena was of grey and red fur. "I think I know what the last part means, the part about someone of grey and red... Rena y'know the girl I went out with last night has grey and red fur. And she's the only one in the whole town who does. The prophecy might be referring to her" I suggested. "Your right in fact that completes the puzzle, the only problem is we still don't know what the impure beasts are" Cobalt laid his head in his hands. "Well are half dead things technically impure?" I asked. "I don't know why?" Echo replied. "Because I think I know what those creatures might be-" I shivered. "What are they?" Cobalt asked.
