Rena's POV:
It was dark. I looked out the window to see the half moon illuminating the sky. The night was calm. I paced around my room before deciding if I should go or not. I could easily get away with not coming to this meeting- but then I'd have to face the alpha. I wonder what punishments were handed out for standing up the alpha. I shook my head and sat at my desk. I'd have to make up my mind soon. A knock on the window interrupted those thoughts. I was startled but cautiously went to investigate anyway. I let out a low growl and opened the window. "Who's there?" I whispered. Silence. I looked around my night vision was finally coming in handy. So far nothing. I carefully slid out of the open window and looked around. A hand covered my mouth and made me jump. "Man you sure are jumpy I expected a nicer greeting for your date" a familiar voice chuckled. I let out a low breath and felt my body relax. "It's you isn't it" I smiled a little. Finally the warm hand let go of my mouth and I stepped back. Howler's black fur made it hard to spot him but I could still make out his silhouette. "I have no idea why I agreed to this but I guess I'll find out" Howler snickered at me. "I didn't think you'd meet me at my house" I frowned. "Well what'd you expect me to invite you to the palace nah I have better things planned. Besides I wouldn't hear the end of this from my sister. You have any siblings?" Howler smirked. "I don't have any siblings but Dakota is pretty much the same thing we've known each other since middle school" I smiled. "Well in that case let's get going it'd be better if the townspeople didn't see me with a vulpes y'know egos and reputations would kinda be ruined" Howler shrugged. "I one hundred percent agree" I snickered. Howler grinned and grabbed hold of my hand a little tightly but I didn't shake him off. He pulled my arm and began to run towards the forest. "You gonna murder me?" I joked. "Course not my executioner does that" he winked at me. I felt a light tingly sensation in the back of my head. "Ready?" Howler smiled. "For what?" I asked. "Three, two, one" he remarked before transforming into his creature form. I did the same and he paused. "What is something wrong?" I stopped. "You know you're really quite beautiful in the moonlight," Howler smiled. I felt my cheeks growing hot and from the look on his face he could tell I was blushing. "So anyway where are we going?" I tried to look away. "Follow me if you can keep up," Howler barked. I smiled and zipped past him before sliding into the river. "Ew" I shook the water off my fur and stopped. Howler burst out laughing from behind me. "What's so funny?" I playfully growled at him. "Oh nothing" he said, licking a bit of dirt from my fur. I looked down at my reflection and my cheeks were bright red. "Why did you want to come to this river anyway?" I asked. "Look up" Howler nudged my shoulder. I did and saw a giant waterfall in front of us. The moonlight was reflected onto the rushing water making it look beautiful at night. We both walked up the side of it and sat down on the grassy terrain above. "So alpha you got any special powers I mean I'd expect the alpha to be strong and powerful" I nudged him. "No. Being the alpha isn't about any special abilities or anything like that" Howler started. "Oh please the only reason your alpha is because of your father" I scoffed. "I'm serious, it's not something simple and easy. I trained my whole life to be ready for the position of alpha. Being alpha isn't about the power or the respect, it's about being a good leader and being able to take charge, being brave, bold, fearless, and being courageous are some of the many attributes to a good alpha. My father disrespected the position he upheld. Enough serious talk, what about you?" Howler growled. "I'm just a normal girl. I may be a mix breed but that doesn't make me anything special... I'm more of a vulpes than anything. I've lived alongside them long enough to know many canis think they're better than everyone. I want to change that one day" I shook my head. "Well besides this serious shit let's do something fun" Howler's lips curved into a smile. "Like what?" I asked. The moment I said that I instantly regretted it. He inched closer to me. Both of us had transformed back into our bipedal forms at this point. I could tell my face was getting hotter. He slid his hand onto my waist and his face turned into a grin. I tried to look away but his orange eyes seemed to cast a spell on me. Both of our eyes locked on one another and I felt his hand crept downwards to my thigh. I tried to pull away but was too entranced by his charm to move. By this point I could feel his warm breath on my cheek. He grabbed my cheek with his other hand and pulled my body closer to him. I was surprised by this sudden gesture but stayed put. I wanted to see where this would go. He let out a low growl before pressing his lips onto mine. I could feel his tongue and I could taste him now. This feeling was new and different to me but I didn't care. I never wanted it to end. His hand moved to my neck and he held tight onto me. I didn't dare move at this point or it could all be over. I then let everything soak in and pressed my lips onto his embracing the kiss. I opened my eyes and noticed him staring at me. His orange eyes and black hair in the moonlight were mesmerizing. I couldn't look away. I moved my hand onto his back and embraced him. We had been in that position for what seemed like an eternity. I didn't feel his breath anymore so I knew he had moved away from me. My face was bright red and I felt like I should say something to the man I just kissed. "I-" I was cut off. "Ssh don't say anything" Howler pressed his clawed finger to my lips and whispered in my ear. His words tickled my skin and I flinched the slightest bit. He grabbed my hand in his and I did the same. I laid my head on his shoulder. I let my hands explore his waist. He turned his head and stared at me before moving away for a second. He ripped off his shirt with his hands and let me feel his shirtless upper body. I blushed even more seeing his rippling muscles underneath his shirt. I felt odd being this close to a male before a male canis at that. He looked up at the moon then looked at me. Something caught his eye and he let me go. I realized I had been sleeping and got up. "What's wrong Howler?" I asked him. He gave a low growl then shook his head "Nothing let's go back into town". I nodded and expected we'd been out here a bit too long. "Turn into your creature form, it's an easier way to travel" he barked. I was surprised at his sudden command but didn't question him. I followed quickly behind the jet black canis before falling short when I lost sight of him. "Rena it'd be nice if you kept up" Howler said from beside me. I jumped at his sudden presence "I can't see you, it's too dark". He gave a slight nod and hoisted me up onto his back. An odd way to travel but his fur was comforting. Finally we arrived back in town. Howler gave me a slight smile "I enjoyed our little date... We should do this again sometime". I wagged my tail at him "I agree it was nice seeing this side of you". He dropped me off at my apartment and ran off into the night towards the palace. I watched him until his black fur disappeared from sight before going inside. I sighed a deep sigh and held onto his shirt before curling up in bed.
