Chapter 3: Keeping my Promise

Where am I? What am I? What do I come from? Should I just suck it up? Why can't I be with him? Ash? Where are you?

No one's pov~

Eiji and his older sister kept arguing on why Eiji had to go live with his sister. Eiji knew why he has to go live with his sister but he didn't want to leave anyway. It was either live with his sister in hiding that was close by New York or or go to Japan. Eiji wanted to stay by Ash no matter what. He promised him he would stay by his side no matter what.

There was no use in arguing cause in the end Eiji's older sister Hena was budging. Hena and the gang members she had at the airport dragged Eiji out of the airport and into a car.

Max and the rest of the gang tried to stop Hena from taking Eiji, but Eiji just told them to stop cause nothing could change Hena's mind.

When Hena was about to drive off Sadie ran up to the car window and gave Eiji a package.

Eiji questioned about the package at first, but he excepted it in the end. Eiji grabbed Sadie's hand and motioned for her to make her head closer.

Sadie poked her head in the door window as Eiji whispered something into her ear.

"Remember our promise, okay?"
"I will. You don't have to worry."

Sadie backed away from the window and ran off to the right. She didn't ask for a cab. She just ran.

Hena rolled up the car window and drove off. Eiji had no idea where he was going, but at least Ash will be safe.

Sadie's pov

My legs were about to give out after running who knows how many miles AND IN HEELS!!!

My feet were killing me, but I had to keep Eiji's promise. Right when he whispered in my ear about the promise at the airport my stomach dropped dead.

I had a terrible feeling after he said it. That's why I ran. I couldn't wait for a cab so I just ran.

I know Sing was going to give Ash Eiji's letter somewhere around the library Ash hangs out at a lot. Eiji always talks about how Ash is kinda a book worm.

Whenever I talk to Eiji he always talks about Ash. Nothing but Ash. He does talk a little about other things, but mostly about Ash.

I was about 3/4's of the way to the library when I saw Ash walking to the library reading a note.

"It has to be Eiji's note." I thought to myself. Sing must have delivered the note to Ash already.

I jog up behind Ash about 12 feet away from him when I see someone holding a knife. They were walking towards Ash.

THEY ARE AFTER ASH!!! I ran as fast as I could( With me heels still on) and bolted towards the guy holding the knife. I then ran by him while hitting his shoulder really hard which made us both fall to the ground.

"OH MY!! I'm so sorry do you need any.......A KNIFE!!!!"

"Please get Ash's attention." I begged to myself.

Ash turned around as he heard me yell knife and ran to help me up. I grabbed Ash's had as he reached out towards me to help me up.

The man stood up and grabbed the knife while hesitating to swing it at Ash. His hands were trembling so bad that it made him look like he was freezing instead of being scared.

Ash was about to grab his gun out of his pocket but I put my hand over his to stop him.

There were people watching use trying to figure out where all the commotion was coming from.

I slid my right foot a little back and swung it towards the guys face. The impact of my kick made him drop the knife as he fell.

It was able to knock him out for a couple hours. When the cops arrived I just said I bumped into the man and he attacked us with the knife. Ash knew that he had to play along.

The moment Ash saw me on the ground when he turned around he knew I was the doctor that treated Shorter for the Banana Fish.

After the cops left~
No one's pov~

"Hey thanks for helping." Ash said as he opened his phone to look at the time.
"I was only keeping my promise that I made someone a while ago."
"Who was that someone?" Ash questioned.
"A good friend of mine. You know him actually." Sadie responded.
"Someone I know." Ash said puzzled.
"Well I must be on my way Ash. This is for you and Shorter." Sadie said while pulling a piece of paper out of her pocket. Ash opened the piece of paper and was confused. It said

When we are ready we may meet again. The fields look really nice in the photos. I will become stronger so that you don't have to help protect me. I do not know where I am going, but I know it will be safe. I'm close by XXXXXXXX, XXXXXXX, and far away XXXXXX XXXX. Please stay safe.

When Ash looked up Sadie was already gone. Who was this Sayonara? What did they mean by they are close by XXXXXXXX and XXXXXXXX but far away from XXXXXX XXXX? The first location is by New York so where are they?

When Ash arrived back at their hideout Shorter was sitting on the couch looking through some photos Eiji had taken. Ash sat down by him and grabbed a photo of them in the back of a red truck driving in the open land out of the city.

"How was the send off Shorter?" Ash asked as he set down the photo.
"It was hella weird. Eiji was taken by this girl and her gang......and he didn't even complain about it. He told us to leave and think nothing of it."
Ash looked at Shorter and sprung up from where he was sitting.
"WHAT!!!" Ash yelled.
"I know right. He just told us to forget about it. He didn't even tell us where he was going."
"Do you know what she looked like?"
"She looked a little like Eiji. I know I heard him call her Hena."
"Hena......I don't know any gang leaders that go by Hena here."
Ash was stumped. Eiji must know her well if he knows her name. Gang leaders can go by fake names. The only gang with a female leader Ash could think of was The Black Diamond.

Lot's of people think of the jewel diamonds when they hear her name, but the people who know what her name really means have many terrible stories to tell about meeting her. The name Black Diamond is referring to the Diamond back rattle snake. She goes straight for the attack when people get to close and she kills them while strangling all the information she wants to hear out of them.

She was one lady no one wants to mess with. If Eiji was with her does that mean she is going to kill him?! Ash couldn't be sure of that. What would Eiji have done that upset the Black Diamond?

All Ash could hope for was Eiji was safe. He also had another thing stuck in his mind that he needed the answer for. Who was this Sayonara person and what relationships do I have with them?
