3rd Person POV:The gloomy skies send heavy raindrops onto the forest below to accompany its violent winds. The trees rustle from the harsh breeze and bear no defense against the heavy rain. The bleak atmosphere sends chills down Leafy's back. She tries to keep her stance against the piercing wind and makes her way through the forest. Each step she took felt wetter than the last as if her foot was sinking deeper into the flooded grass. She holds her arm up to her face in an attempt to protect it from the plummeting drops of water.
She was frustrated.
'Come on..where are the others? I shouldn't have separated from them..'
Leafy had left her team, BEEP, for some time alone. She hadn't realized the gray clouds swarming the sky till it was too late. The harsh weather came in with no slow introduction. She felt guilty for leaving her team, but that feeling of wrong was interfered with by another strong push of the breeze.
"Gah!" she gasps. '..I'll look for them later, I won't last another minute under this weather!'
She scurries forward in hopes of finding any place that could protect her from the fierce weather. Eventually, after various steps, she looks around and spots what seems to be a cave. Being filled with delight, she runs towards it to take shelter.
'Finally! Out of this..rain..'
Leafy stops her sprinting as a bright glow from the cave catches her attention. She stares with confusion as she questions why there is light coming from it. Her gazing is interrupted as the air blows past her once more, forcing her to stumble backward. She yelps and attempts to regain her balance, before sprinting inside the cave. She finds her footing and looks up to observe her surroundings. She notices what seemed to be a flame along the sides of the cave's walls, a flame that was all too well known.
"..Firey?" Leafy manages to say in between breaths.
Firey was seated on the dirt, looking towards Leafy who stood at the entrance of the cave. Her sudden presence didn't allow him a moment to think. He merely stares with raised brows.
"Oh..uhm-" he stutters. "This is awkward."
Before all this, the two had unresolved conflicts. Firey would live as if Leafy was a stranger to him, avoiding her at all costs unless necessary to interact. There had always been an uncomfortable tension between the two, as Leafy had stolen Dream Island from her used-to-be best friend. Nevertheless, one could assume both still had a little care for each other.
Perhaps this was the opportunity needed to show it.
Leafys POV:
He's right, this is a bit awkward.
As I take a moment to breathe, I shuffle myself to the wall across from Firey. I brush off any remaining raindrops that clung on, before seating myself down with a huff. I don't know where else to look, so I glance at him.
...
Pure silence fills the air, it was killing me.
"So.." I begin. "What brings you here?"
He keeps his eyes glued to the outside, where the drops of rain pour lively and savagely.
"It was sprinkling earlier, so I went here as fast as I could...not trying to die here." He chuckles slightly at the end bit.
It's been a while since we've had a conversation.
"Ah..it was a bit unexpected, huh?"
I hope for more out of the talk, but he gives no response.
I try once more, "seems like a huge teardrop family reunion!"
My attempt to lighten the mood did not amuse him.
"..Mhm," his response was cold.
It feels like I'm annoying him, to which...I understand. He's stuck with the object who stole the ideal island he competed for. It's only fair that he stays upset, right?
I drag my eyes along the ground and scoot back till I hit the wall. I wrap my arms around my legs, bringing them to my chest.
'...I ruined what we had, it's too late to fix it.'
