FIREY'S POV:

The rain seems to have lightened up.

It wasn't as bad as it was before, but it still wasn't great. It's no fun being stuck here. Only the rustling leaves and rain fill the empty sounds of nothing. Well, or so I thought before another sound comes about. It sounded like a sniffle. I turn my head slightly and catch a glimpse of Leafy, who wipes her face with her arm quickly, before putting them back in their original position.

Psh...what's got her so upset?

She glances over at me and we make eye contact. Anyone could tell the exhaustion in her eyes. Anyone...or perhaps only me, I don't know, nor should I care. The puffiness to her eyes is a dead giveaway that she was...

Quickly I look away, staring back at the rain that floods the forest. Despite trying to not give it thought, a small concern tugs at the back of my brain.

...I wonder if she's okay.

I quietly scoff at myself for even thinking of such. Ugh.. it shouldn't even matter to me, it doesn't. She's just a bad memory now. Remember, only an inconvenience...

The wind seems to have changed direction, and it pushes strongly into the cave. I feel my flames push back from the force before they return to their original position. It doesn't bother me, I've felt worse. I just can't wait to get out of this stupid cave once the weather dies down. It's only times like these where I'm grateful to be fire. I can't imagine how freezing it must be! It has got to suck being an object in this type of circumstance.

And...of course, speaking of objects, I hear Leafy's quivers. As much as I wanted to just tune it out, I couldn't. I looked over to her, who had dug her face into her knees. It..must be cold.

Ugh..whatever...

Leafys POV:

I keep my face buried in my knees in hopes of any warmth. The chilly atmosphere wasn't doing me any good...I could feel myself practically shaking! I'll have to bear through it for now. I just hope my team is doing better than I am...off in some warm, cozy cabin somewhere...as I'm stuck in this miserable, freezing cave.

Ah, I just can imagine it. Being wrapped up in a blanket..near a fireplace, I could just feel it!

...

I...can feel it?

I was hit with a sudden wave of warmness. Was it my imagination? Did I somehow manage to feel what I was thinking? Or am I just that cold? I lift my face slightly and peek out.

There stands Firey in front of me, his face kept neutral. I flinch at the sudden sight, what was he doing? I hear a sigh escape his lips as he moves to sit alongside me, only a couple of inches away from me. He was avoiding eye contact and only stared at the wall opposite from us. There were no words spoken. Curious, I gained the courage to lift my head completely.

"Did you need something..?" I manage to squeak out.

Firey shrugs uncomfortably, "I just.." He looked over at me, finally meeting his eyes with mine. "..noticed that you were cold and, yeah," he mumbles on the last bit.

...

We both stare at each other for a couple of moments. It wasn't long before I felt my cheeks burn up. Quickly, I turn to stare at the ground. Gah...what is this feeling?! A feeling...all too familiar.

"Why does that matter to you?" I mumble quietly to myself.

"What was that?"

"Nothing! Just...thanks, I guess."

He raises a brow, before merely returning to staring at the wall.

I hope this weather stops soon.
