Chapter 1

Lilly P.O.V

Lilly come say hi to Dereck , he's our guest and we need to treat him exclusively special .You know we need him to sell his father's land to us"

Said mother, in a judgemental but yet pleading voice. She needed me to comply, to do what she needed to get her precious land. Sometimes I often wondered if I ever meant anything of worth to her other than a pawn in her little games.

"Yes mother I will, I swear ....cross my little heart and hope to die!.

I answered. Bored out of my mind and wished that this ' visit ' would be over soon!

Heck I wished the whole day would end already.

I was in no mood to sit and look pleasing for mothers business partners.
I understood that everything she did was for me but yet it annoyed the hell out of me when I had show my pretty face in her meetings.

I let out a huge sigh and rolled my eyes as I was checking myself in the mirror. My long curly hair was tied back putting all the focus on my large hazel eyes. I put on chocolate brown lipstick to help brighten up my caramel complexion.

" Hurry up, time waits for no woman little  girl, this is important. You know  exactly how much we need it . So drop the spoilt brat act this instance !."

She said as she exited my room. I knew she meant business so I did as I was told and went down stairs to the sitting room.

As soon as I entered the room the strong scent of expensive perfume graced and danced in my nostrils. There, across the room was a God sitting in a leather armchair. He was wearing a black tux .

White shirt paired with a sleek slim black tie.

He looked out of this world, his dark eyes held a promise of  malice, his perfect face screamed heartbreaker and his demeanor revealed nothing short of asshole.

It all worked, he looked like a horrible man  and he rocked it.

He was tapping his fingers on the armrest emitting a soft low sound of fingers against leather.

Rudeness was written all over him but strangely I felt something emerge deep  within me. A feeling that eluded my witts and lit up my dark bitchy soul.

I felt alive!

On that very moment , I felt some fucked up form of rebirth I could not explain. I wanted to know who the man was, I wanted him to want me.

I slowly sat down in the sofa across him and for the first time in my life I felt unsure of myself in my own mother's house.

" Dereck, this is my daughter Lilly. My one and only child. She'll be joining us today I hope you won't mind."

He looked at me up and down and I could see dissatisfaction painted on his eyes. Which later changed into a bored look.

I looked down and for the first time AGAIN
I felt shitty about myself.

" I see. "

That's all he could say. My mother was introducing me to him and that's the only reply he could offer.

I felt the lash strike my heart and leaving one nasty bruise. I looked up at him and he was typing something on his phone. I was clear that he had lost interest in the meeting or me.

So I did what any woman who values herself would do. I excused myself left the room. I never walked that fast to my bedroom before.

I pushed open the door to my room, stormed inside and dived on the soft queen sized bed, covering my face with one of the throw pillows. After a few seconds I threw it across the room and shouted my lungs out, spewing out all sorts of profanities.I didn't care if he heard me on not , I was angry at myself for letting his rudeness get to me like that.

I strong feeling of resentment imerged with me from that day forward, I didn't know why but I hated him. With every piece of my fabulous soul. I didn't know why I had such strong ill feelings towards him but they were there and I had an unsettling feeling that things were indeed going to take a turn for the worst.
