Sunlight pierces through the window of your room and shines straight into your eyes like lasers. Not used to the morning glow after having been in the Devildom for so long, the light instantly wakes you up from your slumber and you rub your eyes to get them adjusted to the brightness that you haven't seen in a while.

Eyelids feeling heavy, you assume that it's only because you didn't get enough sleep but upon approaching your bathroom mirror, you find that your eyes have become swollen and puffy from last night's weeping. Washing your face with water doesn't even help your situation as it only brings out the redness of your cheeks.

You shake your head as you take a minute to look at your reflection. "What happened to you," you sigh while your hands grip around the edge of the sink.

There's something different now that you're back at home, you don't have to wake up everyday anticipating chaos and trouble. Some would consider that lucky but now that you don't have it anymore, you can't help but miss that.

Will they miss me? No, probably not. Not when they have (O/N)...

You shake off whatever feelings you have left for the brothers and the lifestyle you had with them. "No point thinking about them now," you whisper to nobody but yourself. "That won't do you any good," you breathe, subtly swearing to yourself that you'd try to avoid recalling anymore memories from the Devildom.

After cleansing your mind of the past, the rest of your morning routine continues on like a system that's never been abandoned. Brushing your teeth, changing into more suitable clothes, neatening your bed, it's all second nature. Once clearing your schedule out the way, you inhale a one more deep breath before leaving your room.

You expect to find your parents sitting at the table and finishing off the last of their breakfast as you enter the dining room. Your assumptions prove wrong as you find their seats empty and the house absolutely silent with the exception of your own footsteps.

Reading the clock hanging on your wall, you realise that it's way late into the day, almost reaching the afternoon. Damn, I overslept.

You trudge towards the fridge, where a note has been pinned up for you by your parents themselves. Snatching it out of the fridge magnet's grasp, you carefully read the slip of paper in your hands.

Hey, (MC)!

It's good to see you at home again. We really wanted to welcome you back, but you looked so tired so we thought we'd let you sleep in a little longer. We'll leave work earlier so we'll be back home by evening. There's food in the fridge if you're hungry. We can't wait to catch up.

Though disappointed that you didn't have the proper chance to greet your family again, you still manage to muster up a smile after reading their note before you crumple the page into a ball then toss it into the nearest bin. The mention of food notifies your stomach of its emptiness and it growls to alarm you of the growing hunger.

You open up the fridge and scan each of the levels for all the leftovers and ingredients inside. One container marked with your name stands out and written on another little slip of paper gives you the instructions to heat it up in the microwave.

Starving and too lazy to think of other options for the time being, you shrug and chuck whatever it is in the container into the microwave before pressing a few buttons and letting it heat up. While you wait for your meal, you take the time to explore your old home again as you wonder the possible changes that your parents could've made while you were gone.
