Chapter 14 (train to death)

Tanjiro POV-

we headed towards the training hall. As I approached the hall, I got the scent of aniki, Kanao, Shinobu-san and Aoi. I guessed they were training. As Nee-San opened the Shoji door to the hall, she also said, "Moshi~Moshi~" Aniki smiled widely hearing that. "

"So, you guys are here. Alright then, Kanae, can you take my place for a while? I wanna test Tanjiro." "Of course, I can, Taiyo-kun." "Thanks. So now, Tanjiro, catch this." He threw a practice sword at me which I caught. He then indicated to me to follow him to the other side of the hall. "Use your breathing technique, and try to hit me." He said. "W-what!? But you don't have any weapon on you." I questioned him with a bit of shock. "Just do it. Don't worry about me. I'm the strongest around here." He smirked. "I seee..... Alright then, here I come." I took my stance. TOTAL CONCENTRATION WATER BREATHING THIRD FORM FLOWING DANCE I swung and bended the wooden sword in a winding motion along with my body and danced in a flowing pattern, and tried to hit aniki multiple times. As I approached him, he smirked and bent down and punched me in my guts sending me a couple of metres away. "Oops. Did that hurt? Sorry." He stated with a bit of a teasing tone. I didn't reply and dashed at him again

TOTAL CONCENTRATION WATER BREATHIn~~~ Aniki vanished and appeared behind me. He then gave me a german suplex. As my head was about to hit the floor, aniki pulled me up and saved my head from hitting the floor. "WhAt aRe you?" I asked him with a shocked face and tone. Aniki chuckled a bit and said, "Tanjiro, you are strong, but there is a lot of room for improvement." "How can I improve, aniki?" I asked him. "You can do Total Concentration Breathing, but try doing it for 20 minutes straight." He told me. "What?? 20 minutes straight?" "Yupp." "Alright, here goes nothing."

20 min later-

Tanjiro is laying flat on the ground painting hard. 

 "Huf huf huf huf" Tanjiro pants hard. 

 "So, how was it?" Taiyo asks him with a slight smirk. 

 "Vhery *pants* Vhery *pants* Hard." Tanjiro replies.

 "You see, there is a thing called Total Concentration Breathing Constant. And as the name suggest, you have to perform TCB 24/7. Even when you are sleeping. If you can do that, you will improve dramatically." Taiyo explains to Tanjiro. 

"Is that even possible?" Tanjiro asks. "Yes, it is. Infact, all the Hashiras do it, that includes, Kanae, Shinobu and me. And not only the Hashiras, Kanao is doing it as well."

Ummmmm.......aghhhhh." That's all Tanjiro could say. Taiyo laughs seeing him. "Just do it in your own pace. No need to rush it." Taiyo advises his brother. "I will try, aniki. And I will definitely do it." Tanjiro says confidently. "That's the spirit." Taiyo smiles and gives him a thumbs up. Taiyo continues, "Anyways, Tanjiro. Let's see how fast your reflexes are." "OKay?" Tanjiro answers and questions at the same time. Taiyo nods at him and then looks at Kanao. He sees Kanao taking a small break. Taiyo calls the her. "Kanao?" Kanao looks at him. "Kanao, can you do the cup game with Tanjiro?" Taiyo asks her. Kanao nods and gets ready for the cup game. After around 3 minutes, Tanjiro and Kanao are sitting face to face with a table separating them. There are cups with medicated water on the table.

Taiyo starts the game... 

Everyone else stops what they are doing and watches as the younger brother of the strongest hashira goes against kanao. 

Tanjiro has no time to react... and kanao spills the tea on him.

Kanae then whispers to Taiyo, "I guess my sister is better than your brother, hehehe".

Taiyo smirks and tells Kanae to watch. Kanae watches as another round starts. 

All of a sudden tanjiro lasts against kanao longer.

Then another round starts, and he survives longer and longer after each round. 

Taiyo states that round 13 would be the last round and blows his whistle.

Both kanao and tanjiro are going faster and faster. Tanjiro has adapted to kanao's movements and is getting faster and faster, he goes so fast that Kanae has to actually, focus on the match to see both of their movements. Tanjiro starts going faster than Kanao and flames, start burning his shirt. Tanjiro is about to splash the tea on kanao but remembers that it smells bad, he then puts it on her head instead of splashing it on her. The match is over and tanjiro is victorious. Before they can celebrate, tanjiro goes to kanao and holds her hands together while saying, "thank you kanao, you have helped me improve so much, thank you sooo much." Kanao starts blushing, which catches the eyes of Taiyo and Kanae who have never seen her show this emotion. Kanao then flips her coin and it lands on heads. She then tells tanjiro he's on fire. Everyone is panicking, but not about the fire, but about the fact that kanao spoke on heads. Tanjiro's shirt burns off but luckily he doesn't sustain any burns. Kanao then looks at him and blushes. Kanae and Taiyo look at each other happily, seeing that kanao likes tanjiro.
