*Marcy's POV*

"Well," Silver said. "Best be off! I hope our paths will cross again!"

I woke up from my boredom trance. "Wait? You're leaving?!" I said excitedly.

She ignored me. "I should go ahead," she said. "Oh, and Bonnibel - " Silver whispered something into her ear, which I couldn't make out. But it sure left Bonnie a sour look. " - Goodbye then!"

An underground cave opened beneath her, and she disappeared in a blink of an eye.

I sighed in relief. "Woo, glad that's over," I said. "Aren't you going to show me your family?"

Bonnibel rolled her eyes. "Fine."

We kept on walking the ruins, until my feet started to protest. "Bonnie, where the heck is your crib?!" I yelled. "We've been here walking for 3 HOURS STRAIGHT!"

Bonnie frowned. "Oh, it looks like I can't find the campsite! C'mon Marcy, let's just... Marceline?"

"BONNIBEL, YOUR PLACE IS AMAZING!" I said and ran to a group of pink tents scattered on the wreckage.

Candy people suddenly emerged from their tents, staring down at me and Bonnie. We stopped on our tracks. I suddenly felt uncomfortable.

"Um, Bonnibel," I whispered, "these people are weird. Did they come from those bubblegum-my things that were..."

"Yes." She said regretfully.

Suddenly, all the people cheered and carried us to the biggest tent on the place. The curtains opened and we were shoved inside. The cheering became quieter and quieter, until it was dead silence.

The tent we were pushed on had candles on tables, which gave eerie glows. A throne was placed in front of us, glittering a spectrum of red, green, and blue from all the jewels glued on it. The air smelled like incense and candy, filling up my nose. The place suddenly gave me the creeps.

"I've been expecting you," a voice said which made me jump. "And I see you've brought your friend."

A candy person wearing a flowing velvet dress with curly hair swirled to the top appeared out of nowhere. She gave me a delighted look but a stern face to Bubblegum.

Bonnie clenched her jaw. "Mother..."

"Bonnibel..." The cotton candy haired gal bit back. "Aren't you going to introduce our guest? Step twenty from the book of royalty, I remind?"

"Marceline Abadeer, from the depths of the Nightosphere," she fumed.

The cotton candy girl turned to me, her harsh look changed inviting. "Princess Cotton Candy of the Candy Kngdom; charmed to meet you, Madame Abadeer," she bowed.

I flinched. "Um, just call me Marceline."

"Wonderful," she said. "My dear Madame Marceline, you look hungry? Would you like to eat something? We have freshly made macarons..."

My eyes lit up. "WAIT, MACARONS?!" I exclaimed excitedly.

Princess Cotton Candy smiled warmly. "Why, there's also jelly beans, Swedish fish, starbusts, snicker bars, pixie stix, milk duds, York peppermint patties, Hershey kisses, paydays..."

My mouth watered up. "DONE!" Princess Cotton Candy gave me a platter of candies and I began munching it up like a maniac. "BONNIBEL, YOUR PEOPLE ARE DELICIOUS!"

"Don't forget to enjoy!" I heard her say as she and Bonnibel left.

*Bonnie's POV*

My so-called mother closed the curtains to the tent and lead me to her underground dungeon. I really hate this place. We continued to walk down the chocolate-coated stairs.

"My oh my, Bonnibel," Mother said, "you're guest is so... Spontaneous! Yet so, impolite, and selfish, and naïve."

My face fumed from anger. "Marceline is not like that - "

Mother smiled coldly. "Why of course she isn't! In fact, she's not the only one, isn't she?"

I wanted to scream and push this woman away. "Where were you, Bubblegum?" She said. "Why did you leave?"

I ignored her. "Did you try to run away from your responsibilities? Running away with this... Outcast?" She said. "Why, if you would've done your duties as an upcoming leader, you would've been independent!"

Tears started to stream down my face. "YOU NEVER SET ME FREE! ALL YOU WANTED ME TO DO WAS TO BE TRAPPED IN THIS STUPID JAIL! YOU NEVER LOVED ME! ALL YOU CARED ABOUT WAS YOURSELF - "

"SILENCE!" She yelled. I glared at her. "If you would continue this, I will take this discussion outside! You are a disappointment to the family. A dishonor to the throne!" She faced me. "I can't believe I have to pass down this crown to such an unworthy, selfish, arrogant, ridiculous, stubborn little brat."

I looked down. Mother lifted my chin up. "Do you even care to follow the rules of sophistication and leadership for the sake of the people? A true leader..."

"What if I don't want to be a princess?" I said. "Why can't you just set me free..."

She punched me in the cheek, leaving me falling down the stairs. I felt a chunk of my candy flesh torn off.

"YOU WILL FOLLOW WHAT I SAY BECAUSE I AM YOUR MOTHER!" She kicked me to the ground until I couldn't stand it anymore.

Pain rushed through my chest immediately. I feel juice seeping down my face. Tears overflowed me.

Mother sighed. "Go and show your irresponsible friend of yours a tour around the camp. And if you ever tell anyone about this, I will banish you away from my kingdom!"

I stood up, my wounds instantly healing, except for my cheek. I went up the stairs and held the doorknob.

"Oh, Bubblegum!" Mother called. "STAND UP STRAIGHT!"
