Name: 🖤Tam🖤
Lover: Keefe
Background Info: Keefe and Tam are on a date at a fancy restaurant. Of course this includes some small talk....
Narrator POV:
Tam was terrified.
If the sweat dripping from his brow didn't indicate it, then the fact that he couldn't sit still probably did. It wasn't his fault that he had a crush on this super cute, blonde hair, blued eyed guy though.
Unfortunately, that guy had to be Keefe Sencen, the most popular and most handsome guy in school. That's why Tam was surprised when Keefe agreed to go on a date in the first place.
He'd hoped he'd have a chance, but whenever Tam stole a quick glance at Keefe, he seemed...distracted. He knew it was stupid to believe that things could actually work between them...
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
A small, plump lady brought a steaming basket of bread to their table. Tam immediately shoved the fluffy piece of heaven into his mouth.
He was doing it again. Stress eating. And he would've been on his fourth slice if hadn't gotten sidetracked.
"If your leg got cut off, would it hurt?" Oddly, that came from Keefe.
Tam nearly choked. "What?" He mumbled, his face still stuffed with the delicious bread.
"My friend brought it up and it's been stuck on my mind all day."
"You mean, Fitz Vacker?" Tam asked after swallowing his food.
"Yup! Good ol' Fitzy." He mumbled something that sounded suspiciously like bastard after that.
Tam furrowed his eyebrows. "Well I mean, your leg just got cut off so why wouldn't it hurt?"
"That's what I said! But where would you feel the pain then?"
"In your leg..."
Keefe smiled. "EXACTLY!"
"..."
"HOW COULD YOU FEEL THE PAIN IN YOUR LEG IF IT HAD JUST BEEN BITTEN OFF BY A SHARK!?!" He shouted.
"Woah, woah, woah! When did we establish the shark thing?"
"It's just hypothetically." He clarified.
Tam laughed. "So you're telling me, that you wouldn't feel the pain in your leg if it was bitten off, because it is currently being chewed on by a shark?"
"Something that that." He emitted.
"Do you hear yourself right now?!"
"Yes! And now you see why this has stumped me all day." Keefe groaned.
"Aren't you supposed to be one of the smartest guys at Foxfire!"
He blushed. "Kinda. Gotta give my photographic memory some credit though."
Tam sighed. "Okay, fine. You'd probably feel the pain in your stomach. You happy now?"
"Yes, thank you. And I knew that by the way. I just wanted to see if I could trick you."
"Yeah sure." Tam snickered.
Keefe narrowed his eyebrows at him, his gaze slowly moving to the table. "Well, I see that you have almost finished the bread basket there buddy."
"Oh shut up."
"I think someone got the case of stress eating. Just couldn't handle all of this, could you?" Keefe pointed to his perfectly groomed hair.
"You know my hair is better than yours."
"Oh, you did not just go there." He said as if he was accepting a challenge.
"I think I just did."
"You're lucky you're cute because otherwise you'd be dead by now." Keefe hadn't seemed to notice what he just said, but Tam heard it loud and clear. He had to stop himself from squealing like child and instead come up with another comeback.
Unsurprisingly, his mouth was faster than his mind. "Did you just call me cute?"
Keefe's cheeks flushed. "Well...uh, yeah. Why else would I agree to go on this date with you?"
Tam scrunched his eyebrows. He hadn't really thought of that. "I don't know. I just thought you didn't want to hurt my feeling's."
"That...and I also have a crush on you. But I thought you didn't like me, so I just kept quiet and moved on. That's why I was so surprised when you asked me out." Keefe admitted.
Tam couldn't believe what he was hearing right now. He had always thought that he'd never have a chance at Keefe, but here they were, confessing their feelings, and he had to act cool.
"Dude, how were you so cool about that? I've had a crush on you for months and I was barely able to function."
Keefe smirked. "I'm just special like that. But, isn't it funny that we're both bonding over the fact that we each have a huge a crush on each other but didn't have the guts to emit it so we just went out of our way to ignore one another until you finally asked me out."
"Yeah, it is funny. And wow does it sound complicating when you say it out loud." He chuckled.
"We seriously got to work on the whole 'we like each other, what's next?' thing."
Tam grinned, "How about we start by going on a second date?" he proposed.
"Oooh, can I pick where we get to go?"
"Finnee," He sighed. "But since I have been so kind to let you decide, you have to take care of the bill tonight and wherever you take us next."
"Deal! I can't wait! I know this awesome place..." He trailed off after realizing what Tam had just done.
Works like a charm. He thought to himself, then laughed.
Keefe raised one brow, "Dude, you're good."
"I know."
