💿 Ch. 1

"Hey Robs?" Steve called out from behind Family Video's front counter, drumming his fingers along the edge of the red top. He hummed a small tune to himself as well, the unforgettable Call Me by Blondie.

"Yeah dingus?" The girl called back as she stood up from behind one of the movie isles and looked back at her friend, holding a couple movies.

"How uh- how did you know you liked girls?" The boy asked, not bothering to whisper since it was a Monday morning, meaning no customers would be coming into the little rental shop. For the pair, Monday typically meant restock, and reorganize since the only time people came in, was late in the evening for movies for after supper.

"Oh- uh, truthfully?" Robin asked out of some shock, she was completely intrigued though. All she gained from the other was a nod alongside a hum. "Well, middle of grade seven, I went to my friends sleepover party, and I saw a girl change her clothes. I thought she was very hot, but I didn't really realize that at the time, all I noticed was this sort of fuzzy feeling in the pot of my stomach, along with a burning sensation on my face." She quickly explained while rubbing the back of her neck, a small blush of slight embarrassment growing. She's never told anyone that before.

Steve simply mumbled an 'oh' to himself as he nodded his head slightly slow, looking away. Well this caught Robin's attention even more, so the girl immediately walked over to the counter, setting the movies down, and then leaning against the red top. "Why do you ask?" Robin quizzed with an arched brow.

"I uh, I dunno, I think, one day I was picking Dustin up, and...there was a guy there." The boy answered after a minute, a little shrug to go along with his words. All Robin did though was give a questioning expression. "H-He was older, I swear, looked my age, but, he looked...pretty?" Steve assured, then questioned his own words.

"Oh? And the banished himself returns from his night in hell." A boy with shoulder length brown fluffy hair announced from a lunch table upon seeing one of his best friend's walk towards said table.

"Ah-uh Gareth, I'm steppin right on into it, Hops cells are a damn five star motel compared to this dump." Eddie announced, finding his rightful seat at the head of the rectangular table, setting his usual tin box down. This specific tim box however, held more than just lunch items in it.

"Wait, you were in jail? Is that why you didn't respond to my call last night dude? I had some serious shit to tell you." Another voice spoke up from the table, clearly irritated.

"Ah Henderson, always a pleasure to see your face, yeah, that's why I didn't answer your little code red thing, or whatever." The longer haired male stated in a sarcastic tone as he opened a little bag, starting to eat his usual pretzels.

"What's Wayne's world this time? No sweetheart for a week? No van for a month? House arrest till he deems you ready for the world again?" Jeff questioned, looking at the one who sat head of the table.

"Mm, y'know, everything, it's school, then straight home, van privileges have been narrowed down to school and back, no Hideout for me for awhile, oh! And get this, he's taking my music from me." The eldest of all the males announced his punishments before slamming his hands down on the table and getting up to angrily pace.

"Damn, what did you even do this time to piss off your old man so much? He's never had this much of a problem with you before." Gareth asked, looking up at the other who was still pacing around.

"That's the funny thing, it wasn't even my fault this time!" Eddie stated as he rushed back over to the table and leaned down on his hands that rested on the flat metal. "I was minding my own business walking home from a deal, and some pricks thought it would be funny to jump the freak!" He explained before pushing himself off of the table with a groan and sat down.
