"I am breaking up with you Mike."

2 Hours Before

"Cmon Mike, hurry up." Will called from the top of the stairs that led to the Wheeler boys basement. That's where the two boys had slept previously, and would most likely continue to sleep.

"Yeah Mike! If you're not up here in five, I'm not taking you to the arcade!" Nancy called afterwards, annoyed with her kid brother due to him already running the group of four ten minutes late.

"Will just go down there and wake him, when he visited us, nobody could wake him with just a shout." Jonathan added as he joined Nancy's side with a waffle in hand.

All the younger did was look at his brother, then the girl before he sighed and traveled down the flight of stairs. As he did so, he clapped his hands a bit while calling for his friend again. He noticed little shifts come from him, but not an actual movement that indicated that he was fully awake.

"C'mon Mike, I'd like to go to the arcade with all my friends today if possible." The boy mumble grunted as he lightly shook his once unconscious friend awake.

Upon opening his heavy eyelids, Mike's eyes immediately met Will's and the boy couldn't help the dopey smile that slowly formed. Either it be the months apart, or his morning drowsy state, but Mike was happy to wake up with the sight of his brunette friend. Saying that this new living situation for the Byers wasn't taking a huge toll on the boy was a lie, a terrible one at that. He missed his friend. He missed seeing him every day, and quite frankly hanging out with him every hour.

This past year had definitely been one of the worst years for him, aside from when Lonnie took Will a few years back and told nobody. There were search parties every night those couple of weeks until Jonathan found his brother locked in his old room at their dad's place, but that's a story to never be relieved. So according to Mike's mind which blocked those memories, this was the only time the pair had really been apart, and it bugged him.

There was nothing for the family in California, but he knew why Joyce had moved the family there. Eleven, or Jane, had gained her nickname since she took on eleven girls in a fight during middle school. Due to her being locked away in a special orphanage since her mother was an unfit one, she didn't understand social cues, nor did she understand many rights from wrongs. When she overheard a group of girls planning on asking out Lucas, Mike, Will and Dustin as a huge joke, she got angry and thought defending her friends by fighting was the right thing to do.

All it did however, was get her expelled from the only school in this little town. Joyce, being a single, at the time, working mom with two jobs, couldn't homeschool the poor girl, so she decided to move. She had found a house, bought it, transferred the kids, and then Hopper dropped the bomb that he was in love with her. It was all just a huge mess, but from what Will has told Mike, the boy had a sneaky suspicious that Joyce was working hard to move the family back here since the kids were in highschool- where Eleven hadn't gotten expelled.

Coming back to Mike and Will though, the brunette boy leaned off his friend, letting his shoulders he was previously shaking, go. As for the ravenette, he sat up with a small yawn, shaking his dopey smile from his face. "You better hurry up, your sister's already mad for being late."

"When is she never mad?" The taller inquired as a little joke as he stood up.

"When we were in fifth grade she was never mad if that counts." Will pointed out as he sat on the newly added recliner that was positioned in the corner.

"Yeah, but we were what? Nine? Ten? She was prohibited from being mad at us." Mike countered with a clear joking intent as he walked over to the recliner.
