Chapter 1- Loss

Sarawat's POV:

"SLOW DOWN! "

I screamed at the top of my lungs. It was a stormy night and we were driving. My father was driving and my mother sat next to him in the passengers seat. I was in the back of the car.

"We're gonna be late if we slow down."

My father told me in a rush. The car was turning and swiveling down the road. The speed was a lot faster than average, and the heavy rain pouring didn't make the car drive any safer.

"We're gonna crash! " I screamed, terrified at the speed of the car.

"No, we're not honey. Your father knows what he's doing. " my mother replied to my screams. We were late for a very important meeting with my father's most important client. If they signed the contract, then our business would be the most successful. My parents had argued as we left the house. Explaining how it was my fault for not getting ready and not wanting to go with them. I was a very lonely child. I had no siblings, and my parents were always working.

We were rich and lived in a huge mansion. My father earned a living through his company, which was slowly building up and getting even more successful. My mother helped him and I was always stuck at home in my room. The maids took care of me. Made sure I was fed and clothed. They were very quiet and focused on their work. But they made sure I was alright.

I didn't go to school because my parents had me home schooled. I never interacted with other children, as our mansion was miles away from civilization. I only accompanied my parents to important meetings and was forced to speak to the kids of their clients.

I enjoyed being alone tho. I liked how it was peaceful, and that I could just be myself. Because I was very lonely. I got bored easily. So I spent time reading books and learning how to play instruments. I slowly started loving the guitar. I played it everyday.

The rain poured and the wipers of the car wiped off the tiny drops that covered the windows. I was enjoying the sight of the city. It was my first time in months taking a look at the city lights, and the tall buildings and busy streets. The rain soothed the argues of my parents. And those tiny droplets made it even more beautiful. Surrounding the windows and dripping down.

"LOOK OUT!" My mother yelled. And before I knew it. The car had crashed into a pole. My parents were lying there in front. Bloody and unconscious. I had my seatbelt on, and I couldn't move. My head was aching and blood was dripping down my head. The car was ruined and smoke was fuming out of it. I could hear the sounds of cars rushing, and people coming to help. The loud sirens echoed in my ear. I felt dizzy, and tired.

The door opened and I was carried into a stretcher and brought into an ambulance. I cried for my parents, while the medics ran over to the front of the car and helped my parents. I lost consciousness at that moment.

I woke up lying in a hospital room. My head aches so much and I was attached to an IV. There were some machines around me. The nurse saw me woke up and immediately ran out of the room. Five minutes later, came back with a doctor.

"What happened?" I asked clueless as to
what's going on.

"You were in an accident."

The doctor replied to me. And then the events of the car accident started going through my head.

"Where's my parents?!"

I asked, my tone high pitched. I was worried. The doctor looked down as if what he was trying to say was really terrible. I instantly knew.

"NO! " I cried out! "It can't be!" I started sobbing and the nurse came and comforted me.

"We did a couple of research, and we couldn't find any relatives or family. With no one to take care of you, I'm afraid we're gonna have to put you into child services. Hopefully you can find a new family to take care of you. I'm truly sorry for your loss. We really tried to save your parents, but it was too late." The doctor said in a soft and sad tone.

After a week of being hospitalized, I was discharged and a kind lady brought me into a building. I went inside an it was surrounded by children. They were all playing, and running around inside. There were sounds of laughter and joy inside. All these children had lost their parents like me. And had no one to look after them.

"This is where you'll be staying for now."

The kind lady said sweetly. "I'm sure it's a lot for you to take in, and I know it's very hard for you right now. But soon you'll get used to it. And hopefully you will find a nice family!"

I looked up at her and nodded. I barely spoke ever since the incident. I was brought to a room with 2 bunk beds. There was a small bathroom, and cabinets and drawers.

"This will be your room for now. You will be staying with three other kids. The top bed to your left is yours. I hope you make yourself at home here." She told me.

I nodded again and started to unpack my luggage. The lady left the room and I started to relax. I sat by the window and watched the view. It was a beautiful scenery of mountains and skies. There were children playing outside. Some were running around, and playing catch. Some girls were twirling like a ballerina, and some boys were playing ball. Other playing hopscotch, and there I was, lying in the bedroom window, watching these kids play. I was so lost in the view, that I didn't notice the door open and someone came in the room.

"Hi! My name is Tine. What's yours?"

A sweet voice called from behind. I turned around to see who it was. And I found myself staring at this little boy with Navy shorts and a black T-shirt. He had the cutest bunny smile and his cheeks were so chubby I wanted to squeeze them. They were slightly red, and his lips were so perfectly shaped. His hazelnut brown hair covered his face and he smelled like summer breeze. I found him so beautiful. I've never met someone like him.

"Hello, my name is Sarawat, Nice to meet you" I replied shyly. This was the first child my age I talked to in so long. I finally had a friend, and it felt so nice. I enjoyed being lonely, but having him around made it so amazing. His laughs were like music to my ears and he glowed in the sun.

He then smiled again at me. I felt my heart spin and I was slightly blushing. He then said "Nice to meet you Sarawat! Are you new here?" I chuckled at his cuteness. How can someone be so innocent and adorable like him.

"Yes, I am. I lost my parents in a car accident last week, so now I'm staying here." I replied slowly.

"Ohh, I'm sad to hear that. Well welcome to our orphanage! There's lots of kids here! I can be your friend!" He said cheerfully.

"Really?! You want to be my friend?" I asked. It was the first time someone asked me to be their friend. I was so happy it was him of all people.

"Yeah! I would love to!" He exclaimed.

And that's how I met him.
