Chapter 6

Autumns PoV

"Welcome to the Ocean Empire!" Ocean excitedly announced, they had been on a boat for quite a while, normally Ocean would've swum together with her twin brother Moss to their empire, but since Sun and Autumn had been traveling with her they were forced to use a boat while Moss swam ahead to their home.

In the distance, Autumn saw a few big towers with bridges in between to connect them, "What are those?" She curiously asked.

"That my friends, is the Prisma Palace!" Ocean became more excited per second.

"It's beautiful." Sun whispered, it was the first time she had spoken since they entered the boat.

Ocean smiled in response.

"Mom! Dad!" Ocean shouted as she ran up the spiral staircase that led up to the tower, Sun and Autumn following close behind her.

When they finally reached the end Autumn felt like she was going to drop to the ground, Sun didn't look any better.

They live in towers these high and they don't have a stupid elevator?

At the end of the staircase sat a grown-up man and woman, next to them sat a boy -whom Autumn guessed to be Moss- that looked a lot like Ocean.

The two adults immediately stood up and smiled, "Ocean!" The woman said while hugging her.

The woman had bright pink hair and wore a cute white dress, her skin was blue and she had webbed fingers, a tail and gills on the place where her ears should be, making Autumn immediately think of an axolotl.

So this is my aunt? She looks...different than I expected, then again, papa doesn't look very different.

The man looked a lot more...human. He had brown eyes and dark brown hair with a dark green streak in it, he wore a purple jacket with golden accents and black pants, paired with a golden crown on his head.

"These are my parents, Lizzie and Joel." Ocean said to Autumn and Sun.

"Mom, dad, these are Autumn, future queen of Rivendell..." Autumn smiled at them, they both smiled back. "Nice to meet you, Autumn!" Joel said. "So you're my niece Autumn! Nice to meet you!" Lizzie smiled.

"...and this is Sun, future queen of...the Lost Empire..." The face of the two adults immediately turned cold, Moss's eyes widened, while Sun kept looking at her feet.

"She is what?! Are you out of your mind?! What is SHE doing here?!" Joel furiously shouted.

"H-her father s-said-" Ocean muttered, "Stop it! I don't want to hear a word about that cursed man! I want to know what she is doing here!"

"S-he wasn't a-allowed t-to come h-home b-because it w-was t-to dangerous a-and you t-told m-me to t-take a-anyone who c-couldn't come h-home w-with me..." Ocean said as she looked down at her feet.

"No wonder." Lizzie mumbled under her breath.

"When I wrote that I didn't know you were going to take a witch home with you!"

Autumn heard a little sob coming from Sun, Lizzie heard it too, "Joel, calm down." She whispered.

"No! How do you want me to calm down when-"
"I SAID CALM DOWN!" Joel was interrupted by Lizzie's shouting, he looked at her with wide eyes and immediately closed his mouth.

"YOU SHALL NOT ACT LIKE THIS IN MY HOUSE!" Lizzie shouted at him, just as furious as he was at first.

"Technically it's our-"
"EXCUSE ME?"
"I mean it's yours, it's all yours, my empire belongs to you!" Joel quickly spoke.
"GO TO MY ROOM AND COME BACK ONLY WHEN YOU HAVE CALMED DOWN!"
"Our room-"
"DO YOU WANT TO DIE BY MY HANDS?!"
"No, no, I'm sorry!"
"GO!"

Joel quickly walked away.

Lizzie turned to face the others, "Come with me, I'll show you two your room." She sighed.

Lizzie had shown them their room and left to lecture Joel again, if he wouldn't have shouted at Sun, Autumn would've felt sorry for him, but, as we all know, he did.

Sun sat next to Autumn, her head leaning on Autumn's shoulder as she was silently crying, while Autumn tried to comfort her.

A small knock on the door made her look up, "Come in."

Ocean peeked around the door, her face showed pity as she entered the room and sat down next to Sun.

"I-I'm sorry for my father, he's normally not like that, I promise." She said.

"It's okay." Sun whispered as she dried her tears with her sleeve, "But...will your parents be okay? Your mother looked rather...angry?"

Ocean laughed a small laugh, "Oh don't worry, they love each other very much, and I can't remember a day without them fighting over something very stupid. They once had a discussion about Joel first pouring milk and then adding the cornflakes into the bowl instead of the other way around, she didn't talk to him for over a week." Ocean grinned at the thought.

"Not that this was something stupid! I-"

"No, no, I know what you mean." Sun smiled, but her smile didn't meet her eyes.

That's when Lizzie walked in, "I know this may not be the right moment, but I want to tell you three why almost everyone is...well...worrying so much, if that's the right word." She stayed silent for a moment before continuing.

"A long time ago, there was a demon in this world, Xornoth was his name, he caused chaos among the empires, corrupting them with his tentacles. Your father..." She looked at Sun.

"...Her father was in a...Uhm...relationship with this demon." Lizzie laughed awkwardly "And your father..." She turned to face Autumn, "...your father was his...twin brother...in a past life." The mouth of the girls flew open, only Sun didn't seem surprised.

"He was stopped!" Lizzie quickly added, "But...there have been reports lately of him...showing up again in the Overgrown, the Lost Empire, and there have been signs of corruption showing up in Rivendell.

So that's why Sun and I were not allowed to come home!

"And that's not all..." Lizzie continued. "Sausage, the king of Mythland, has gone missing."
