CXCIII
The Paragon froze
that moment,
When
dear old Mary's name was called.
She stiffened
on the adjustment,
From the old her
that has turned cold.
CXCIV
Swallowed all courage
that she had,
She tried for her knees
not to shake,
But for the first time
she turned sad,
And her spirit
finally breaks.
CXCV
Sudden
change-in-atmosphere feels.
Two characters
with just one face,
And the whole
paradox reveals,
As the concealed doubling
takes place.
CXCVI
The rich girl's hands clapped
behind her,
The Paragon winced
from the noise.
She shan't return
to what she were,
The old her
that fell to their toils.
CXCVII
AMBER:
"And now she's braver
than before.
You can change
and grow all you want.
Still that old Mary
and no more,
You'll never fright me
with that front."
CXCVIII
AMBER:
"All of us here
almost forgot.
Oh dear old Mary,
you're all new.
Now why place us
at this dead spot?
While the spotlight shines
bright on you?"
