Okay, so this is a short chapter, but I promise you that chapter 5 will be coming some time tomorrow! As soon as this chapter gets atleast five votes! It's also a very intense chapter, so please bear with me. It gets lighter!

Recap

The telly shut off and suddenly, everything was dark. A piercing scream erupted through the air and Niall shouted, "STEPHANIE!"

Chapter 4

Niall’s POV

“Stephanie, are you alright? What happened?” I question her frantically. It is completely dark and I can’t see a fucking thing. Oh god, please let her be okay.

A bright light shines through the room and I can see Harry holding his phone. The light is on Stephanie, whose holding onto Arianna.

“Sorry, I’m fine. I’m just really afraid of the dark,” she smiles sheepishly. Arianna gives her a annoyed stare and pushes her to the side.

Shaking her head, Arianna says, “I’m going to get the flashlights.” As she walks off into the kitchen, Harry following behind her like a lost puppy, I slowly make my way over to Stephanie, trying not to trip into furniture.

Pulling her into a hug, I bury my nose in the crook of her neck and just breathe her in. She smells like lit vanilla candles and fresh meadow flowers. I can feel her shaking as she nuzzles into my chest.

Stephanie’s POV

I shiver as Nialls arms bind me into his signature Horan hug. I can feel his breath on my neck and I can’t resist nuzzling into his firm chest. He then slowly moves his head and his lips are at my ear, whispering, “Don’t worry love, I’m not going to let anything happen to you.” Hearing that, I can’t help but to smile as his arms tighten around me. My heart flutters as he keeps telling me it's okay and I can feel the frantic butterflies in my stomach every time he calls me love in his think Irish accent.

I can’t help but to wonder that while something good has come out of this awful day, how long is it exactly going to last?

When I’m finally comfortable in Niall’s embrance, the thunder decides to boom again and I jump into the hug. Niall  chuckles as I start shaking and I take my left hand and punch him in the arm.

“Ow!What was that for,” he says, rubbing his arm.

“You were making fun of me!” I reply.

“Was not.”

“Was too.”

“Was not.”

“Was too.”

We banter back and forth, and just as I’m about to haul the towel in, I hear a crash behind me and I’m going down.

“STEPHANIE!”

Niall’s voice is the last thing I hear before shards of glass cut through my skin as the windows pieces come raining down. I can feel blood on my face and I try to crawl away from the wall, but something is weighing me down, holding my ankle in place. Looking at my foot, I see the dish satellite that’s supposed to be on the roof, resting on my ankle. How did I not notice this? I guess with the pain from the glass cutting my skin, I had become numb to the satellite cutting off my ankle’s circulation. Okay, calm down Stephanie. The first thing I need to do is get this thing off me. Oh fuck, this is going to hurt. Using all my strength, or well whatever’s left, I push the satellite off my ankle.

Niall’s POV

I can feel my heart racing as I fumble my way through the dark, trying to get close to Stephanie. When the satellite broke through the window, it had landed on her and pulled her closer to the wall and further away from me. And I promised her that I wouldn’t let anything happen to her.

The only thing in my favor right now is the small beam of moonlight shining through the broken window. I squint through the room, my eyes landing on her.  She’s sitting on the floor holding her ankle and the satellite is lying to the side, where she had pushed it to.  I can already smell the sharp rusty odor of blood overpowering her sweet vanilla scent. Oh, god. Please let her be alright.

I kneel before her and my eyes take in her scared face. Small cuts graze her skin and tiny drops of blood slid down, mixing in with the tears that stain her face. She’s letting out small gasps of air and is shaking violently.

I cup her face in mine and say, “Everything is going to be alright, love. Arianna brought the first aid kit. You’re going to be just fine.”

She smiles at me, through her tears, and laughs weakly. I turn my gaze to her blood covered ankle and gently pry her hands off of the wound. A gasp escapes me as I see glass shard lodged into her skin. This is bad. This is really bad.  I grab the first aid kit from Arianna and get to work. Arianna is holding Stephanie’s hand as I quickly sterilize the wound. Stephanie hisses as I clean off the blood but I don’t stop. I’ve got to do this for her, before she bleeds any more. Taking the pair of tweezers, I see Stephanie close her eyes and whimper.

“Look at me, love,” I say. She forces her eyes open and stares at me. I keep my eyes on her as I instinctively hold the glass through the tweezers and pull it out. A cry escapes from her lips and my heart breaks. I want to do nothing more than to just hold her, but I’ve got to bandage her wound. I pat the cloth on her cut and wait till she stops bleeding.

Stephanie’s POV

The pain is so intense and I just want to pass out right now. The only thing keeping me awake is the intense emotion I see in Niall’s eyes. He keeps my gaze and I don’t even notice that he’s pulling the glass out till it’s actually out. A small cry of relief escapes me lips and Niall starts to bandage the wound. He then gently wipes my face with a wet nap making sure that there are no pieces of glass. The second he’s done, he pulls me into his arms, and I break out sobbing.

Niall is stroking my hair gently and whispering sweet nonsense into my ear.

“It’s alright love. It’s over now, you’re okay,” he says. And slowly I start to feel better. The last ten minutes had been an absolute nightmare and I just wish that I could just go to sleep next to Niall and wake up, injury free. I free myself from Nialls grip and look at Arianna. She’s smiling softly at Niall and me but I can see the film of tears in her eyes. She’s always been the most sensitive out of the two of us, so I know the seeing me like this was just going to set off the waterworks. I smile, trying not to wince as another wave of pain surfs through my ankle. I hold out my arms and she flings herself into them.

“Oh my goodness, I thought you were dead! I was in the kitchen when you screamed and I though- oh god! Don’t ever do that to me again, you stupid whore,” she screams at me, her hands clutching my arms. I laugh and nod my head as we both silently cry. I hug her again and I hear Harry cry,

“Group hug!”  He flies into our embrace and Arianna turns to give him a glare. I can see his hand resting on her back and getting lower every second. He grins at her cheekily and she slaps his hand away. I shake my head in amusement and look at Niall. He's sitting a foot away from us on the floor. He's staring at the two of them and looks like he's concentrating really hard. I narrow my eyes and he looks at me. As if he's read the question on my mind, he shakes his head and smiles.

"Niall, what are you doing over there, mate? Join the hug, don't miss out on the oppurtunites!" Harry says. Niall laughs, clapping his hands and scoots over to us. His left hand circles my waist while his other rests on Harry's back. Harry pushes everyone closer to each other, and exclaims, "This is how you group hug with the ladies."

I guess its nights like these where you find yourself close with people that you’ve only known for a handful of hours.
