AN: Welcome back. Sorry for not updating babes, school just started and I'm quite busy. BUT I won't disappoint!!

Damn there's a lot of you :oo

__________

You enter the classroom and look around for Steve. He's not there. You feel sad, but then again relieved that you don't have to face him.

You make eye contact with Eddie. You didn't even know that he takes English. There are a few empty seats next to him, you take one of them.

"I didn't know you were in this class." You state, in-a-way questioning him. Maybe you just hadn't noticed him before?

"I do now." He smiles gently, he has a sweet smile. I do now? What does he mean by that? The door swings open, interrupting your thought. It's Steve. His gaze finds you immediately. He walks over, sitting next to you.

His eyes burn into you, you awkwardly look past him at the teacher.
The teacher starts.

"Groups, people, groups.."

You turn to Eddie, the safest option at this point.

"Y/n?" Steve starts. Shit.

You start to turn your head towards Steve. A hand gently grabs your right arm.

"Y/n, wanna be in a group with me?" Eddie asks.

Steve leans towards you and grabs your chair, pulling you with it closer to him. "You and me, a group?"

Eddie now stands up and leans over your desk. "Y/n?"

You can't even think of an answer before Steve stands up, facing Eddie. "Sorry man, me and y/n are already together." Excuse him. Eddie chuckles.

"Clearly not." They stare at each other.

"Let's just be in a group together, all three of us?" You immediately regret your answer. This is going to be messy. Both of them turn to look at you.

"Alright."

"Sure."

You are then given a sheet of topics to discuss in the group, relating to a book you just read. The boys are seated on both of your sides, all of you hovering over your desk.

"First question: Does the protagonist's past justify their actions in the present?" You start.

"No." Eddie shakes his head and scrunches his face in disapproval.

"Absolutely." Steve nods, placing his hands onto the desk.

You feel like disappearing through a hole in the ground. You stare blankly at the sheet in your hands.

"Absolutely? Absolutely not. The dude was an ass in the past, he doesn't deserve forgiveness." Eddie continues, breaking the silence.

"But he came to his senses, everyone deserves a second chance." Steve argues. You catch him glancing at you as he speaks.

"No, once an ass, always an ass." Eddie adds to the tension, smirking as if he's enjoying it. You can see Steve getting angrier.

"People do stupid things but they can change, and he definitely changed. He clearly regrets his past actions and thus deserves a chance to show it. Why don't you just believe me y/n!" Steve blurted out. Your eyes shoot up at him angrily.

"Y/n?" Eddie looks at Steve, then at you. You feel that uncomfortable bubble forming in your throat, signalling that you're about to break. You stand up to leave the class.

"Excuse me Miss, I need to use the restroom." You mumble as you walk past the teacher and into the hallway. You rush to the toilets, enter a stall and break down into ugly sobs.

You sit down onto the toilet seat, burying your face into your hands. You feel exhausted from all of the emotions, events and decisions. The crying and the stress gives you a headache. The tears feel warm against your cold fingers.

There is a gentle knock on the side of the stall. You freeze, staring down at your shoes on the ugly tiled floor.

"Are you alright in there?" An unfamiliar voice asks you. The voice sounds very sweet and caring. You swallow, debating whether you should answer or just run out of the stall.

"Ah.. not really." Your voice breaks.

"I'm sorry.. Do you want to talk about it?" The voice continues. You try to pinpoint its owner, it's familiar but unrecognisable.

"I'm just.. tired.. tired of being in this situation." You confess, not giving out much if any details.

"I get that. Me too."

"What do you mean?" You ask, subconsciously attempting to turn the direction of the conversation.

"Well.. I'm losing a friend to her boyfriend."

"I'm sorry to hear that." You sniff, wiping your tears away from your cheeks. "I'm trying to escape my boyfriend, but he used to make me feel so.. good. I can't seem to be able to leave him, and he won't leave me." You let out a laugh. What a silly situation to be in.

"Sounds like a terrible situation." You can hear a gentle smile in the voice.

"And the worst thing is.. I like someone else too."

There's silence. You curse yourself for being so honest to a stranger. You sound ridiculous.

"We've all been there." The voice finally answers. You chuckle.

"I'm Barb.. by the way."

"Y/n." You smile to yourself. Barb? You don't know anyone with that name
