Her end, His beginning..

Canada sighed as she sat on the deck with her plane, scared out of her mind for this mission that she got thrown into. She put her head in her hands as she thought about her Dad at home..worrying about her and the rest of her family who told her she wouldn't make it far in the Navy. She felt a hand on her back and looked up with tears in her eyes to see Rooster. She burst into tears as he sat down next to her.

"It comes and goes in waves love.." he said rubbing her back as he pulled her close to him to lean on him. "Just don't let go..because I'll always have your back.." he said softly while kissing the top of her head. "Just don't let go for me okay..?" He said as Canada nodded while wiping her tears.

"Mommas gone..cancer took her.." Canada said as she stared at the ocean. "She loved the ocean..adored it and dreamed if living near it. Daddy lived her dream and then sent his only daughter away to fight for the county they all love.." Canada said as Rooster sighed.

"My dad died in combat in these very seas..Maverick was his partner. He pulled my papers when I tried to join the first time and he...he definitely made me work to get my spot back. I always talk to my dad in the air. 'Talk to me dad' is what I always say..maybe try the same with your momma? She'd probably give you better advice than my dad.." he said chuckling softly as Canada giggled. "Can I ask you something?"

"Sure, anything I'm pretty open." Harper said smiling softly at him as she patiently waited.

"Why is your call sign Canada?" He said, curious since he didn't seem to understand why an American would have another country as her call sign.

Harper giggled at his question. "Im originally from Canada, my family and I have a Green Card so we are okay. But when I first enlisted I had a heavy Candaian accent so my unit called me Canada and it's stuck ever since.." she said as she smiled before yellow lights began blinking. "Oh- guess it's time.." she said sadly as she stood up with Rooster.

"See ya in the sky little lady." He said quickly kissing her cheek and running down to his place.

Canada rolled her eyes and got all her gear set up then into her plane and loaded up onto the main deck while getting the rest of her equipment set up and her oxygen mask on. "Mission Control this is Canada speaking- I'm ready to launch." She said smiling as she got ready. 'Mission control to Canada your all set.' The woman said over coms as Canada was quickly launched out over the open ocean. "This is Canada to Maverick. How's it hanging?"

"Peachy Canada, just Peachy." He said as the rest of the flight teams joined them.

"Rooster to Canada, how's my girl doing?" He asked, the rest of the team could be heard snickering.

Canada rolled her eyes. "Just fine love, let's focus now okay? See the rest of yall back on base."

Maverick sighed. "Lets roll in Alpha team, we don't got alot of time before they know we are here." He said as he quickly jetted forward, the rest of his crew following as Rooster waved to Canada.

Canada smiled and waved back as she waited for the all clear to continue moving forward. "All clear?" She asked over coms.

"All clear Beta team." Maverick said as he looked around the terrain to make sure all of them where in the clear.

Beta team quickly moved forward to advance on Alpha team. "This is nerve racking.." she mumbled as they had to cut coms at this point. "Just be easy Harper..Mommas watching." She mumbled as she could fell the affects of Alpha team. "Shoot- we are late." She said as she quickly advanced faster till she was at the targeted site. Quickly lining up and sending the information to the rest of her team before pulling up at high speeds. "Come on team!" She said as her vision began to fade out, finally making it over. "Phew" she said before quickly diving as the rest of her team followed.

'Beta team look out!!' Maverick shouted over coms...but it was too late.

Canada didn't hear Maverick in time and got shot down- plummeting into the snow below as the rest of her team pulled up and out.

'Mayday! Mayday! Canada's been shot down!!' Phenoix yelled as the teams linked up.

"Rooster- don't- the enemy is close behind us! Don't do it!" He shouted as Roosted could be heard yelling and screaming over coms.

He then pulled back and circled back. He was going to go get his girl, no matter the cost of what would happen.

"Crap.." he said, quickly rushing to get to open water. "Mission Control we have a problem." He said softly.

'Where is Canada and Rooster, Maverick? Where are our two best pilots??' Cyclone asked as Hangman, Warlock and Hondo listened carefully.

"Canada was shot down...Rooster is now risking his life to go and save her.." Maverick said as both sides waited patiently for any sign that either where alive...
