- Goodbye Serkan Bolat. I will always love you, but I don't like you anymore.

Those were the last words, whispered while trembling, that Serkan could hear before the door was slammed, leaving him with her floral scent still in the air. He was now aware he had lost her forever, he had just lost the love of his life forever.

And it was his guilt, only his.

His eyes were heavy. The green-blue pupils were replaced by tears and darkness.

Serkan Bolat was a lost man.

Two years later

Serkan woke up as usual at 6 am, went to the gym, and made his way back home to have a healthy breakfast before going to work.

He had finally realized one of his biggest dreams: to create his own company, gaining independence from his family and the influence it had in that field.

Two years before he graduated, he followed his passion to become an architect and he made it, making the Bolat family proud since they were well-known in the sector.

His mother Aydan was a great interior designer and his father Kemal was one of the main architects in Turkey.

Serkan grew up in a mind-open environment, full of energy and inspiration, and his choice was never forced by his parent. They always repeated to him that the most important thing was following the passion that floods his heart and mind, and he found his way of expressing himself in architecture.

So, after graduation, he moved to Ireland. But things were not that simple.

Because his experience at university brought him to know that the perfection of lines and the balanced shapes that appear on the paper under his pencil were nothing without an explosion of colors.

And his explosion of colors had a name: Eda Yildiz.

But, he preferred to come back to his black and white life, so colors disappeared and he moved to Dublin without looking back.

And now he found himself in his apartment, in the center of the city, minimally decorated (against his mother's will to make modifications according to last trends). And he was completely alone inside that kitchen while sipping his morning coffee. Alone with his constant thought: Eda.

After finishing breakfast, his repetitive and mechanical movements made him dress up for the work day and he left home at 7:30 am, being always the first one to reach Art Life, his precious company, all he had.

And the day went by as always, the monotony of callings, meetings, and problems to be solved one after another.

But luckily it was friday, luckily for all who had company to enjoy, not for Serkan who planned to come back home and go to bed right after digestion.

While he was making all his boring thoughts in his mind Engin, his work partner, and the only one Serkan could call a real friend, entered his office with all the enthusiasm of this world, despite the tiredness of a hard-working day.

- Abi, it's finally friday and we're going to meet up with the boys at the pub! We deserve a chill night and I don't accept any words but yes!

Serkan made a hesitant face but Engin stopped his attempt to say no starting again with his exciting speech about having a little fun night.

How can a simple friday night at the pub make him so happy?

But Serkan gave up and this made Engin jump on him, hugging him.

- Engin sakın, I simply said yes to a beer at the pub, I didn't say I want to marry you!

While making their way to the exit of the big building, Serkan listened to Engin who never stopped talking. He was really happy to spend the night with him and also to meet up with the boys, Efe and Ferit, from the design sector of his company.

At least, the loneliness he constantly felt could fade for some hours.

Serkan offered to drive Engin to the pub, so they waited for his car and they reached the place, but Efe and Ferit had not still arrived.

Serkan and Engin ordered two beers meanwhile, and keep chatting.

- So Engin, what makes you so excited you didn't stop talking even while we were greeting the security team?

- Serkan are you kidding, right? You didn't know what day is it today?

- Yes, Engin today is August the 18th.

Serkan answered while looking at his beer. He perfectly knew where this conversation will end.

- Well done, you did your homework! Bravo! And tomorrow is your birthday, you idiot!

- I know the day I was born, Engin, but as you know I don't care about partying and all those "funny" stuff you are thinking right now in your crazy mind!

Engin rolled his eyes.

- Abi, you're so boring! You loved enjoying your birthday during the university period, I remember you even made countdowns starting from July, you were always so curious to discover what she was planning for y-...

And Engin stopped suddenly, putting a hand on his mouth.

- I'm sorry Serkan, I didn't want to say... I...

- Don't worry Engin, you said the truth. So, don't worry.

Serkan kept watching his glass, making a circle with his thumb.

- I'm truly sorry, I know I should keep my mouth shut sometimes.

Engin was embarrassed and Serkan knew he didn't mean to offend him, so he tried to reassure him. Despite it was so hard for him to ignore the thought of her.

- Engin, I'm serious, don't worry. I'm quite used to your stream of consciousness while talking.

Serkan said while smiling a little.

- You always see the positive side of things while I'm the boring one.

- You're not boring, you just act like this and you know very well I'm right. You're a charismatic man but you forget it sometimes.

- You always trying to see the old colorful side of me, Engin.

- Guess it's a family habit...
