Eda woke up quite late for her standards that sunday morning.

She rolled several times in bed, messing up the blankets and sinking her head into the pillow.

The rays of the sunshine entered dimly from her window, signaling the presence of clouds that hindered the sun to shine intensely in the sky.
She felt like that shy late-summer sun: like something was blocking her, preventing her from shining like she used to.

Perhaps Serkan was right: he had acknowledged his faults, and years of silence had been silenced by the words he had told her last night. On the other hand, he had only complied with her request to be as far as possible from her.

But at the same time, he gave up so easily on her, on them, without even fighting a bit.
Perhaps this was the thing that had hurt her most: the belief that she had considered herself more important than she actually was to him.

But she knew her best friend and his eyes had never lied to her: during their smiles, during their discussions, in the dark and happy moments, during that kiss, that unique and unparalleled little kiss after their pizza date.

Serkan never lied to her about what he felt for her as well as she always did. They didn't need words from each other to prove the truth.
They never confessed their feelings to each other but they knew their friendship was more than that.

Or at least Eda had always thought it until that terrible period, after Serkan's return from Rome, began.

But if her pride was the main reason that made them live apart all this time? She had always been a great supporter of communication: talking to each other and trying to understand the real reasons behind any gesture, according to her opinion, was the basis of a healthy relationship, whatever it was.

Until the exasperation of that cliff-hanging situation with Serkan and the feeling - once again - to had been abandoned by the people she loved, were enough to Eda.
At that time, her mind was so clouded that she had not wanted to listen to a word coming from Serkan's mouth.

"Everyone has a breakpoint", she weakly thought.

But, maybe, after two long and difficult years, she had to listen to him.
Maybe, she was finally ready and she thought it was because she did not feel anything for him.
"Yes, it's surely like this. I feel I'm ready to listen to him like I did last night during that heart-warming speech because I'm completely over this situation", she tried to convince herself.

Once again, she was only fooling herself. And she knew it.

She grabbed her phone from the bedside table and dialed Ceren's phone number, to make a video call. Maybe she had a free minute since it was sunday, despite she was used to taking some paperwork at home.

- Dada, you're lucky and you have great timing, I'm taking five minutes from this exhausting review I need to deliver tomorrow. However, good morning my lil flower, how do you feel this morning?
Ceren said, sipping her coffee.

- Ceren, I'm so happy you've answered. I've called you because I need to know what actually happened after I fainted last night. How did we get to my house? How did we...

- Dada, slow down! Sadly, now I don't have all the time I need and want to dedicate to telling you everything so I would like to meet you for lunch and we can talk about it in person. What do you think?

- Yes, Ceren. You're right. It's that I am still pretty confused about all this...

Eda was happy about the clear-mind decision Ceren proposed.

- See you at the seaside at 1 pm since I'm craving a hamburger from that new place there. Dada, now I have to go but I want you to organize your messy thoughts before our meeting.
