As they make their way through the forest, the screams of people and shrieks of the monsters grow more and more distant. Almost a mile away from Maddi's street they see a clearing off in the distance.

"That might be a good place to stop for a minute." Wes says visible out of breath from carrying the chainsaw. Mar and Maddi shake their heads in agreement, Yet as they approach the clearing, they suddenly see a giant metal wall.

"Wh-What the hell is that?" Mar asks, as they get to the treeline just before the clearing.

"This, this is new." Maddi says, as they scan the wall, guard towers visibly dotting the wall in equal intervals, as the wall stretches as far as the eye could see, in either direction.

"Who put this here? How did they do it so fast?" Wes ponders out loud.

"I don't know." Maddi answers, her head looking up and down the wall's giant circumference.

"Maybe we could just blow right through it? or they could be here to help?" Mar says, however, someone shoots at them from one of the guard towers, and they run back into the cover of the forest.

"Well, that can't be friendly!" Wes yells, as they run back towards town. "They just shot at a bunch of teens!"

"Maybe we should head for 'The Iceburger'?!" Mar asks, as they run back towards the town.

"That's not a bad idea. We can get food that might be left, and may be other survivors!" Maddi yells back to the other two. As they get back to the edge of town, they run by a building that is a blaze. "Holy fuck, now it looks like how I see it everyday...Hell." Maddi thinks to herself. As they make it to the treeline boarding the main road, Maddi stops everyone, and points to something off in the distance. Wes looks at where Maddi is pointing.

"Oh god are those, children?" Wes says, the fright palpable on his lips. The children look much like the adult versions of the monsters, but with no back claws, their eyes have multiplied into the compound eyes of a bug, giving them 360 vision. A group of them standing around a corpse, feeding on it. Mar moves forward to get a better look at the children. She steps on a fallen branch and the snap of it gets the children's attention.

One of the children looks towards the treeline and lets out a horrible screech, and the children dart towards them to attack. Maddi walks out of the treeline firing her shotgun, and shooting two in the head with slug rounds. Wes and Mar walk out of the treeline and begin to fire but they aren't great shots, and miss most of their shots.

Maddi draws the Katana, and starts slicing off heads, for whatever reason, the child versions of the monsters do not have the bone collar. Mar manages to shoot one in the head, and Wes isn't far behind on shooting his first one. Maddi however sees that the firing is just drawing more of the child creatures to the fight.

"If we keep this up they are going to swarm us and I doubt it'll only be children for very long." Maddi thinks. She then quickly decides to run back to Mar and Wes. As she gets to Mar and grabs a few explosive charges, and stuffs them into her sweater pockets.

"Stop shooting, go to the 'Iceburger' there are too many of them." Maddi says, then runs down the street, firing wildly into the air to get the monster's attention. "I'll meet you at icburger."

"Maddison, wait." Wes says, his voice filled with concern.

"Just go!" Maddi yells. "Come on you prepubescent fucks, come on, come and eat me!" She runs down a side street and zigzags while she runs. Her plan is working, as the monster's are hot on her tail. She jumps on a small crate and then over a dumpster, the monsters don't seem to be very intelligent as they bash into the dumpster, and very few follow her or go around it.
