A/N: Hello dear readers, it's been a while, hasn't it? Anyway, enjoy this chapter. There's even a small chemistry lesson in it. It's in bold too, so if you wanna skip it, you can do that. So yeah, enjoy!

It has been a couple of weeks since the Mana Catalysm took place and currently the three of you were riding on an animal through the wasteland. A wasteland is what it was, devoid of any emotion and barren of thought, just a desert for the mind. The hot scorching sun rays burning the stone ground, small dust clouds form when the lizard like beast the three of you traveled on put down one of its limbs, obscuring your view of the ground temporarily. You looked around bored out of your mind, due to the deprivation of any stimulus to react to. The view was wavering left and right as the hot air rose to the sky. The heat was unbearable, your sweat evaporated instantly, but it didn't cool you down one bit. The clothes you wore were soaked in it, sticking to your body, causing you to pluck it off of your skin pretty much every 5 seconds. The salty smell from your companions didn't make the situation any better and neither did their groaning or demand for water. The only one who didn't seem to have a problem with the climate was Abaddon, who was now the size of a large horse and was walking next to your mount, carrying some supplies.

'Ugh, I'm sooooo thirsty.' Ganyu threw her head backwards while complaining. 'We're almost out of water, so we'll have to be sparse with it and on top of it it's been only an hour since we last drank,' you said. 'But it's so hot, it makes you want to drink every single second,' groaned Itto. 'We can't take an entire lake of water reserves with us,' you sighed, indicating your annoyance. 'Can't someone just use magic to make water?' asked Itto, completely hunching forward. You then facepalmed yourself. Literally. 'Oh my goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that?!' you said. 'You can do magic?!' your travel companions asked you in unison. 'Yes, I can. I'm actually a king-class earth mage, saint-class in nature and healing magic, advanced in fire and only beginner in water and air, though,' you said. 'You're a king-class earth mage?!' asked Itto in disbelief. 'That's literally what I said,' you told him. 'That's a very impressive feat to attain, even if you were an adult,' Ganyu mouthed her admiration for you. 'Thanks,' you answered her complement. 'I know it's very impressive and all, but I'm still thirsty,' said Itto, interrupting your moment of praise. 'Yeah, yeah, water is coming right up,' you said, your head down and pulling the hood of your cape further down to block out the sun's deadly lazer beams. Well, now there's a blanket - or rather a hood - in between. You then formed a big ball of water in between your hands and split it up into smaller water balls. The three smallest went to you, Ganyu and Itto, while the two bigger ones were fed to Abaddon and the lizard-like mount. And with your paper dry throats now satisfied, you continued your journey across the barren and unforgiving continent.

It was around the time that the sun went down and the deserted wasteland was cooling off significantly to low temperatures. Now you might think that this would be a nice change, but it's technically the same as letting your hand in a bath with warm water and then put it in a bath with ice water, it will hurt because of the sudden change in temperature. While not that dramatic it's a huge difference in temperature that bodies aren't normally used to and for people new to this experience it's gonna be very uncomfortable. Luckily you were already travelling with your companions, demons and animalistic, were already traversing the harsh terrain for weeks, so you were already quite used to it.

After some minutes you crossed a hill. Behind it was a village made up of houses completely build from stone. Every single stone fit perfectly onto the next one on top of it. All the stones seemed to have the same dimensions and all the houses seemed to be perfect copies from one another, some with slight alterations from the others. The most remarkable feature of the little town was the lava lake that layed next to it. The settlement didn't seem to have any means of defense and as you got closer it was clear why it didn't. The inhabitants were very tall, almost 2 meters in length and their skin varied from metallic white to pitch black. Some had one eye, but most had two eyes. These were the infamous Magnorites, a race of demons that were notorious for their skin completely made up of metal and their barehanded fighting style. Each punch from a Magnorite hit as hard as getting hit by a steel battering ram. They could easily break bones and shatter skulls without any weapons. Due to them being almost invincible in any battle they just didn't had the need to have any defense for the town, as the inhabitants were the defense. Despite being incredible and valuable fighters, they were also the world's best blacksmiths and could rival even the Mendoris clan in masonry. They didn't even need to eat or drink, but do need an occasional bit of lava for sustainance. But they have one weakness and that is their incredibly short life span. They only live for about 30 years. The amount of Magnorites above 45 in the world could be counted on one hand and only one is known to be 50 years old. Additionally, they weren't really welcomed in other cities as they were one of the first clans to have sided with the Demon God Laplace during the Third Human-Demon War and thus were often the subject of racial discrimination and racism. They also were known for their survival of the fittest ideology.
