"I don't need your help because I'm not doing anything."
"Come on, Lillian."
"First off, don't call me that. You all killed Lillian. My name is Lena. Secondly, if I were doing anything against anyone who wronged me, don't you think you'd be number on my list?"
"And I'd deserve it."
I ignored that and kept walking. I turned my head and said my parting words.
"I'm not that same naive girl I was. Stay the fuck away from me."
This time she didn't follow me, and I made my way to the party. I walked in, and the memories of the party that started this all came flooding back. I kept pushing on through the room and looked around until I spotted Edward talking to some of his friends. I walked over to him and tapped him on the shoulder.
He looked down at me and smiled.
"You came!"
I smiled back. "I said I would. How about a drink?"
"Follow me."
I looked around at the famous Blue Rose house. It was old, but a few things here and there were modern. Such as, the flat screen in the living room and the kitchen he led me to had high-end appliances. As we walked through the house, I made sure that everyone that I needed to be there was. While Edward made me a drink, I used my burner phone to send the screenshots I've been collecting to all of those guys whose girlfriends were cheating on them with Randall. I didn't touch my drink while waiting for one of the guys to look at their phones. They were all chatting with each other, and I moved my focus to Edward while I waited.
"What are you majoring in?" Edward asked.
"Psychology. I want to know how the human brain works and why people do the fucked up shit they do."
He doesn't look put off by my answer.
"What kind of people do you want to help?"
"I don't know. Maybe teenagers so they don't grow up to be complete psychos."
"Do you have a personal interest in that?"
I almost smiled. "A little bit. What about you?"
"I'm a sports management major."
"What sport are you specializing in?"
"Football."
"That makes me nervous, considering I now have a bruise."
"Are you going to forgive me for that?"
"We'll see how the night goes, and maybe I'll let you make it up to me."
I wanted to gag. His eyebrows raised in surprise he looked like he was going to say something else, but we heard something crash in the other room.
We both walked toward the sound like everyone else in the house.
"Are you fucking kidding me? Him!" one of the guys finally shouted.
Thank fuck, I thought I was going to have to wait all night. The girlfriends all looked terrified as they pleaded and apologized to their boyfriends. Randall stood there calmly, smoking a blunt like none of this fazed him. The guy yelling punched him in the face sending a crowd of gasps. Randall looked taken off guard, and I watched as the other boyfriends seemed to have gained confidence and approached Randall.
Even though none of them knew about the Blue Rose, it was clear to everyone on campus that the second successors ran this school. And as high school, as it sounded, it was true. I'd only been here for a few days, and I could see them constantly bending to the successors' wills, but this time, it seemed like the boyfriends didn't give a fuck who they were.
