I'm only two months into school, and the beginning of my revenge has been successful with issues in-between. After talking to Jessica, I felt more determined to keep going, but I needed someone I trusted with my whole being.
Someone knocked on the door, and I got up to answer it. I opened them, hoping for the person I invited, but I got Noah instead. I got déjà vu as I tried and failed to close the door in his face. He put a foot in front of it and pushed his way in.
"Good morning to you too," he said.
"It's a Saturday, and I'd rather not see your face today. I want to chill out and binge-watch a reality show."
"Yeah, no. You're coming out with me for breakfast."
"How about you go get fucked instead."
"I'd rather fuck you."
"Leave, Noah."
"Come on. As much as I love our back and forth, we both know it'll end up with me carrying you out of here or me fucking you until you say yes." he leaned against the wall. "I'm good with either one."
I glared at him, grabbed my purse, and walked out the room.
"Glad you see it my way," he said behind me.
I was almost to the elevator to go downstairs when he picked me up, making me gasp in our pursuit. I hit him in his stupid muscular-toned back.
"Don't worry, sweetheart. I'll do the other thing later."
Carrying me on one shoulder, he pushed the elevator button, and I watched as a girl looked at us like she was scared to say anything. I didn't blame her.
"What floor?" Noah casually asked her.
"Two, please."
Noah pressed two buttons, and we all just stood there. Well, I was hanging there. I was facing the wall, having given up on getting off of him since his grip was locked tight. Noah was humming whatever elevator music was playing. The elevator dinged, and we walked out. No one said a word as Noah carried me over his shoulder and out the door. Maybe it was because it was Noah Grant or because I wasn't kicking and screaming.
He set me down when we got to the car and opened the passenger door. He leaned against it as I stood there staring at the inside and him.
"We can do the second option right now if you want?"
I got into the car quickly, causing him to laugh as he got into the driver's seat. He drove us a little further out from the campus. We arrived at a little diner; we walked inside and were greeted by the beautiful smell of freshly baked pies. My stomach growled.
Noah wrapped an arm around me like that was our thing.
"Let's get you fed."
"You know I can kick your ass, right?" I asked as we sat down and waited for our waiter.
He looked at me, having his other arm wrapped around the chair next to him and showing me his arm muscles. He smiled at me in a way that was both hot and arrogant.
"Sure you can, sweetheart."
"I only let you take me here because I'm hungry. I still hate you."
"Keep telling yourself that."
The waiter came and took our order. I ordered a stack of blueberry pancakes with eggs while he ordered plain pancakes, eggs, sausage, and potatoes. We also each got a slice of apple pie.
"I want you to come with me to my family's ball next Saturday."
I almost choked on the water I was sipping.
